Hi You see this is the kind of drivel that's regularly peddled out He's the weakest link last night because of something you think he did in a different match and his appearance? Complete lack of objectivity Hopefully Manquillo/Flanagan can grab their chance now and put the argument to bed though
Drivel! Looking jaded is not a reference to his appearance. It's a reference to his motivation and work ethic. It's clear to see that he has been off the boil for a long time now. It's not just a dip in form. The majority of people can see this.
Just out of curiosity but in an effort to please all, why did he not handle the ball on the line, producing a great save for the second goal. 1. Supporters of Glen would say he puts his body around and would do anything to stop a goal; and 2. All negatives would point out, he got sent off but won't be seen for a while.
Im more concerned about how the hell he ended up on the line instead of closing down jovetic to be honest. I see now theres a petition online to get him out of the club. Im honestly lost for words over it, yes hes been poor for a while now but no player deserves that sort of shite. Whoever set it up needs hunting down and their mammy told on them because their obviously about 10
Was happy with the choice of word myself I think most wouldn't handle the ball in the circumstances Hopefully for him he doesn't care too much what a lot of other's think anyway
He tracked Dzeko rather than holding his position and then ended up on the line when it was pulled behind him Arguable what he should have done
Last night he was ok, few sloppy passes and out of position a few times. It was one of his better games and that's how truly poor he has been for us. The slaughtering he is getting from our own fans in social media is getting embarrassing, We all know he's not good enough but uploading video's celebrating his injury is over the top.
On that one I'm in agreement. I just meant in general But he's not our worst player or performer on most given days. He's just dropped his level of effort in my opinion. And I don't like seeing players that don't give 100% That's my main gripe with him. Plus it seems the last 12-18 months he's been taking lessons from Dani Alves on how not to find a team mate when in the final 3rd.
Most fans will abide a poor footballer but one who collects his wage, pulls on the shirt and puts zero effort in week in week out will rightly come in for it. He's disrespecting the club & paying support every time he jogs out the last few years. Any other job in the world and he'd be sacked long ago. At the end of the day, Rodgers needs to take his fair share of the blame here. He must know what he'd get off Johnson (nothing) and he's let the window pass with him as first choice and only signed an unproven kid at right back.
I actually thought he didn't play too badly last night. The reaction to him being injured is daft. What pissed me off was the way he asked to be subbed. He must have known that all 3 subs had been used so he should just have let them know he was injured and then stayed out there until dragged off. Now, maybe that's what happened, and him signalling to the bench that he needed to be subbed was his way of quickly letting Rodgers know he was injured but it came across as someone who just wanted out of there. The amount of times you would see a rugby player stay on the field when clearly injured just to have a body there but if a footballer gets a knock he usually wants out instantly. At least Moreno looked like he would have to be dragged off.
Haha. Manquillo would deserve to keep his place if Johnson was fit for the weekend but i think the pen is covering a rather average performance of 1 decent cross and not much else of note other than lots of honest effort I wouldn't knock him for the chance he missed
erew;909162]Now look what you've done!
Ha. I play right back myself and have an above average interest in the position Have nothing for or against any of ours being honest other than believing Johnson gets blamed for the daftest of things Was your internet down on saturday evening? I missed your 50 posts during the game in the match thread
Was your internet down on saturday evening? I missed your 50 posts during the game in the match thread
Yay, I have a reputation on IrishKop. No, I was having a social life on Saturday. Was up in Dublin visiting my brother.
I think I can safely say I speak for everyone on this site when I say welcome back Glen, it's great to have you back!
Thought to myself well isn't Johnson playing well on his comeback until that ball that was fizzed across the box beat Lovren and he left it run. Had the striker taken a gamble it was a certain tap in back post. Other than that I have to admit I saw a player who cared today. Maybe the injury lay off and competition might do him well.
