http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/think-of-the-fans-not-the-s Sunday 26 January 2014 at 20:18 Following tonight's draw, another exciting FA Cup tie awaits with Arsenal drawing Liverpool at the Emirates. Having already played there this season we are only too aware that this will be another extremely expensive fixture for the match going fans. Since the draw took place we have been in dialogue with the Arsenal Supporters Trust and Arsenal's Black Scarf Movement and have sent the letter below to both Arsenal and Liverpool. For the Attention of: Ian Ayre, Managing Director, Liverpool Football Club Phil Dutton, Head of Ticketing and Hospitality, Liverpool Football Club Ivan Gazidis, Chief Executive, Arsenal Football Club Ivan Worsell, Ticketing and Services Director, Arsenal Football Club Dear All, Following tonight's draw, we are writing on behalf of our members and all Liverpool fans to ensure that the match goers are treated in the fairest way possible for this fixture. The league game saw Liverpool fans charged £62 per ticket for a fixture played on a Saturday evening. The cost of the match along with the late kick off saw many fans priced out and for those who went there were many difficulties using public transport to get home. We have been informed by Arsenal supporters that if we receive a 9,000 ticket allocation at Category A prices, this would mean that ticket prices could range from £62 to £93 for Liverpool Supporters. Taking these factors in to account, we ask that the following be considered: Kick off time It is highly likely that this match will be televised. We are aware that the clubs don't get to decide the kick off times, however you are consulted. In fairness to the fans we would ask that the consideration is given to those who need to travel considerable distances at great expense. The league fixture on 02/11/13 saw many LFC fans having to use rail replacement bus services to get home from a 5.30pm kick off on the Saturday evening. Clearly no consideration was given to those who actually attend the match from those setting kick off times. We ask, that on our behalf, you push to make sure that we are not in a similar position again where fans will experience similar difficulties. Ticket prices As we have already have highlighted in a statement made by ourselves (http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/reciprocal-ticket-price-arrangements) and in dialogue with both Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC, Liverpool fans have already been charged 72% more than Everton for the league matches that have been played this season and we believe that this is completely unreasonable. Coventry's FA cup tickets were priced at £25.50 and we would request that tickets are priced in the same manner. Similarly, in the event that this match ends up being replayed at Anfield, that a similar arrangement is reached with our ticket prices. You may note that the Black Scarf Movement have also issued a statement in relation to ticket prices for this fixture (http://www.blackscarfafc.co.uk/bsm-calls-on-arsenal-to-do-the-right-thing.html). We also note that in accordance with FA Cup rule 22 (b) (iii), each club will receive 45% of the gate revenues. Such an arrangement, we feel, provides an opportunity for flexibility in the pricing structure that would assist fans and mean neither club is at a financial disadvantage to each other. Allocation In line with the FA rule (21. (a)) we ask that both clubs ensure that we are granted the full 15% allocation for this fixture. We look forward to hearing from you on this important matter and we are keen to discuss this issue with yourselves further to reach a solution, especially given the short time available ahead of the fixture and possible ticket sales. Regards James McKenna Chair Spirit of Shankly
Liverpool win battle for cheaper tickets as Arsenal set to make FA Cup tie a Category B fixture Arsenal have opted to make FA Cup fifth-round tie with Liverpool a Category B fixture, meaning away fans will pay no more than £54 for ticket. www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-to-make-FA-Cup-tie-a-Category-B-fixture.html Well done to Spirit Of Shankly and Arsenals Black Scarf Group. Power to the people. Still too expensive like but it's something.

Just seen the link of a boycott for Hull away on an iPad so don't know how to put it on, Stoke were charged £16 for Hull away, Liverpool have been charged £50 but knocking £2 off so a 200% increase for same stadium and facilities, getting mad all this, anyway what's this buy a ticket for £10 no show and keep your credits has that is the plan.
Well in Keith. http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/committee-member-speaks-out-about-false-police-accusations
I could be wrong on this but it would appear to me from our last two trips to OT that the policing presence is far less that what is shown in this video. Also the fact that the police never challenged the kick off time for tomorrow's match as many expected (myself included) would seem to suggest that their approach is slightly more relaxed that it was a few seasons back. It will be interesting to see if a lock in is enforced at the final whistle.

Alcohol at Away Grounds Friday 22 January 2016 at 12:19 After being contacted by several members who had travelled to recent away fixtures, Spirit of Shankly contacted the club about the non-sale of alcohol at half time at a number of these fixtures in and around the Christmas period. No explanation was given at the time to supporters, so we asked LFC if they could ask the clubs involved why they took this decision and also asked them if they could contact the remainder of the clubs we have to play away from home to see if they had any plans to do the same. The club said they would raise the issue with the clubs at the next available meeting but they would also contact the remaining clubs to see what they planned to do. We are pleased that the club have been back in touch to say that after contacting the remaining clubs they have said that they have no plans to implement any such restrictions for any of our remaining away fixtures. We would like to thank the club and in particular Yonit Sharabi for the work they have done on behalf of our travelling fans.
I will be interested to see the prices when they are announced. Have to say as much as I would love the objectives of the SOS to be successful, the only viable objective that might have had the possibility of some success might have been more young tickets available. Chances of removal of categorisation were slim to none as were the chances of 70% of tickets at £30.
