Welcome to the club Danny! Here's to great success over the coming years. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/liverpool-complete-sturridge-signing
Happy with this signing, good to tie down a proven goal scorer on long term deal Hope he settles well and cant bolster our attack and convert our chances
Why not just have the other thread about him moved to this section rather than now have 2 threads on him open?
I really hope this works out as we can't afford another flop, he wasn't my first chice but will give him the full support just like every other player.
Welcome to Liverpool Danny, bring us goals and effort and you will soon win the neysayers over. Always enjoy listening to his uncle Dean Sturridge with the strong Brummie accent doing the co-commentary, he is very unbiased and knowledgable on the game imo. He always seems to be doing the Liverpool games that are online only and not on tv.
I know that but in the meantime there's 2 threads on him open with people posting in both. Rather than opening this thread at all it would make sense to just continue to use his existing thread and I'm sure the mods would have moved it from the Transfer Section to the General LFC Section. Anyway, don't mind me, it's the small things!
Welcome! An excuse to make a Danny boy chant for him maybe all going well for him! Delighted we got this sorted straight away when the window opened.
If you'd like me to arrange for someone to call you during this difficult period, PM me IMO, merging the other thread drags 8 pages of transfer speculation across. This is a new thread for a new day for Daniel and Liverpool So nice to have a decent signing wrapped up quickly without any fuss.
Good record on loan at Bolton and started well under AVB. Once the Chelsea old guard took over he was pushed to the side. RDM did not fancy him at all. A the very top level, every side needs pace, espicially out wide. For too long lfc acked genuine pace in attack, now with Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling, Rogers has a triple threat. Not sure how Rogers will play him. There is definitely an opening on the left hand side, although seemed to do his best work upfront. Maybe Suarez on the left and Sturridge up top. Anyway, we wanted signs FSG were serious, 12 million is not a bad start.
This is going to be the big question mark now until we see him play. Suarez has been magic up front, so to move him to the left for Sturridge is a massive gamble. However, Suarez would easily produce the goods playing off the main striker on the left too (and would be a great supplier for Sturridge). It'd be a bit of a waste to play Sturridge out of position I think, especially when Suarez is a threat whereever he is on the pitch.
