Rather he stayed there for the season, if we bring him in in January he'll be hailed home like the messiah, bring him in the summer and let him have a preseason with the squad and ease himself in, has he turned 18 yet
What you say makes a lot of sense there mate. However, I suspect we'll be way off 4th come the January window and won't be in the market for a player, so bringing him in (if we can) may be the option the club choses. Our club's decision regarding the striker arrangements for this season was extremely disappointing imho.
Calling back a 19 year old from loan with no premier league expreience is not the answer in January, I didn't think this was an option in the deal anyway. If Sturridge is injured or Balotelli still not firing then we will need another option up front in January so I would hope to see Borini to go and us to bring someone else in who is ready to go. I still have a lot of hope for the Studge / Balo partnership to get going with a run of games.
From reading about the situation with him & lille there's defo no call back option available it's a season long loan end of, that's one of the reason they firstly did business and secondly we got him at such a good price. So we stuck with who we have unless another striker is bought I'm afraid.
Watched some of the game last night. Looks like he has the attributes to fit into this Liverpool team. He's quick & strong & looks technically good. Very raw but plenty to be excited about.
As Divock Origi prepares to play his first game in the city of Liverpool this evening, Brendan Rodgers has revealed how the Melwood backroom team are in regular contact with the promising teenage forward. The Reds beat off interest from a host of other top European clubs in the summer to land the services of the Belgian international, who immediately returned to Lille on a season-long loan. Origi will move to Liverpool permanently at the end of the campaign, but he arrived in the city on Wednesday as Les Dogues get set to tackle Everton at Goodison Park in a Europa League tie tonight. Ahead of that game, Rodgers explained how the 19-year-old's performances for the French club are analysed back at Melwood, with feedback then supplied to the player to ready him for the new chapter in his career. "We're in regular contact with the kid, he's a wonderful talent," the boss told journalists. "I get all of his games downloaded from our recruitment team. We're in contact, which is great, and we're helping him with his game. "He's a big talent for someone so young and we're looking at aspects of his game. "When he plays in France, we get a download of the game here, analyse that and then feedback to him on areas he can improve in the game and what he's doing very, very well, so when he comes into here next summer he's prepared and we know the areas of his game that are his strengths. "Hopefully in this time, he can improve in other areas." Asked if he'd be setting up a meeting with Origi while he's in the city, Rodgers replied: "No, we have to respect that he's concentrating for his club and his team tonight. "They have an important game and we have to respect that."
This young man scored for Belgium tonight! Long may it continue, I think himself and Ibe will be pushing for starting spots next year which will be a huge help to the team, doesn't help us now but good to see him do well all the same!
Its such a pity LFC could'nt offer Lille a ball of money to cut the loan short for Jan, he's high in confidence and playing well atm, unlike some of our bigger players right now.
From the handful of times I've seen him he looks talented but raw, if he was here he would already be considered an 11m flop. Playing away in France is the best option for him right now.
Is he really playing well at the moment? Watched both legs of the recent Lille v Everton ties. The player looks a super talent but whether it is the other players around him or his position out wide as he seems to drift in and out of the games. He is very young and will be a good player but I really don't think having him join in January (it won't happen) would be of much benefit. Still good to know that he scored tonight coming off the bench.
Ya he is playing well at the moment ive watched him a few times he really a good talent but playing in a under strength injury hit Lille team. Hopefully we'll get him next season as him and Strurridge would be a great partnership, as he scores goals, although where he currently fit in our system is the underlying question.
This worries me. A few people will see a couple of clips from him, and expect him to come in a turn our season/year around. Won't work that way, and the same fans who called for him to be our Savior, will be calling for his head as he isn't the next Messi or Ronaldo. Modern Day Football fans unfortunately.
Exactly. He'd be labeled another BR flop and probably €15 million pound price tag thrown on him to justify how much a waist he was along with the others. Best for all parties that he stayed in France for the year
