If i was a betting man (which i am), i would have said that it could possibly be Aaron Lennon, there was a lot of talk about him coming when Keane was going the other way. Perhaps it was done then and agreed that he would move over the summer.

Other than that the only obvious one i can think of is Barry.............again!

would love it if it were ashley young, but he seems happy at villa and has just signed a new contract, more than likely barry for a signing on fee, he can buy himself out of his contract for 2 million in june and has stated he will only stay if villa qualify for the champions league, which i wouldnt be putting money on.other than that cant see anyone else bar lennon.

I think you can only buy yourself out of your contract if you're going to play football in another country. I don't think he can do that and then join another Premier League team.

Seems odd - but I remember reading it somewhere before when it was being mentioned for Alonso and Agger!

hopefully its not Barry, good player and all, I just dont think hes good enough to oust Alonso or Mascherano. Would rather see the money spent on a top winger and striker. Cant see barry buying out his contract as he's been at villa such a long time and would sour his relationship with the club so we would be looking at 18m again

a year older and a year less on his contract, dont be surprised if he leaves for less than 15m.

    hope its young though.

would love to see young come, but that would be huge Money. if Barry was 18 last year, we would be looking at least 25m.

Still think Barry is overpriced at the 15m or slightly below mark.

Lennon seems the most likely, Harry most likely done a deal with Rafa that as well as payin the 12m for keane we could take lennon like rumoured (but only in the summer - when he helped spurs to safety).

That still doesn't clear up the point I made. I said that I remember reading somewhere that if a player buys out his contract he cannot join a team in the same country. Webster left Scotland and moved to England first, and Gutierrez left Spain to come to England.

I don't know if it's true or not as I said i just remember reading an article and being relieved at the fact that if Alonso had bought out his contract he couldn't have joined Arsenal.

It might explain why Webster didn't go straight to Rangers after buying out his contract ?????
