Checked The Liverpool Empire website after meeting Nicky Allt in the Grapes boozer before and after Fulham home game. The owner is a Dubliner Thomas Kennedy He told us about this show coming on in July, and that their were gonna be a few surprises. Six of us have booked for the first Saturday so cant wait for that. Would put up link but I'm useless at that stuff, but put in Liverpool Empire and its all there in July. Coming over to Ireland to speak about LFC related stuff soon I'll keep everyone posted. Show sounds a great night out.
Apologies if youve introduced yourself already mate but whos this?welcome to the site! Anyways, checked out the site.show looks dead good-would love to see it.
good stuff,i read nicky,s book "the boys from the mersey" a few years ago and it was great,he,d be a good lad to meet in a pub,he,d tell ya an l.f.c. tale or two!
Great shout about 'Boys From the Mersey', he's been to a few World Cups to see the boys in green that fella
Mutant - the Spirit of Shankly boys are coming over to talk about why they started out and about all Liverpool fans being together under one flag through times of turbulent ownership and so the Yanks know we are not just 'another business' they can dabble with however and whenever. Coming to Dublin next month I believe, and think LFC TV might be covering it. Nicky is one of the speakers, and Peter Hooton and a player yet to be announced
Sure we are all OOC/OOT/Wools...What would they want to be associating with the likes of us for? No, thats cool they're coming over. Seen Hooton on LFCTV the other evening having the banter with an Everton lad, he's well able to give it out to them.
Oh right mate-guessed you must be one of the SOS boys alright.Fair play.Would love to attend so please let us know when youre comin over.Cheers
would be glad to hear the SOS crew talking, please make sure the date and venue is put up on site.Nicky Alts book is a decent read but Ive heard doubts about some of his "I was there" moments expressed in Liverpool.
Theres jealous people in every walk of life mate, even in fandom If you doubt Nicky allt as a supporter, then you should doubt that Keegan and Dalglish played for us. Think during one period he missed no home or away games for 15 seasons running.
Got a book at the weekend by Brian Reade called "43 years with the same bird" (ie Liverbird). Read half of it already.....brilliant. Should be given to all nagging wives to read so they understand what we go through and why it is, as I am nearing 40, that my mood swings and general daily demeanour are determined how the Reds do each game.....
where did you get it mate?never seen it in the likes of easons/waterstones-was it an internet job?look forwardto reading it
My darling wife got me this book for Chrimbo (just 1 of her lovely gifts) Of course I needed to drop a few hints in advance but it was purchased from Eason's internet site. I am really looking forward to reading this book. Have a few chapters left of Rushie's book. Have to say it is a bit boring though!
Believe it or not I actually got it in the Trafford Centre in Manchester on Saturday. Also, did me usual trick of covering all the Manc books with Liverpool ones. You wouldn't think I'm nearly 40....still hate the batsards
I thought I was the only one who did that Don Anyway, think John Bishop is up for a part in the show and Ricky Tomlinson
act your ageim despised by the staff of easons in cork-factevening echo covers up the rag, tommy smiths book hides rooneys and the covers of their magazine get bent and torn so nobody will buy them - every tuesday lunchtime and thursday evening like clockwork
