is lucas on his way? thats a bit surprising to be honest. Would have liked to see him be given an extra season. could our midfield be totally revamped in the next two weeks?

2106 BST: Liverpool's Lucas Leiva has held talks with the directors of Brazilian side Corinthians about a move. "You have to see what Rafa Benitez plans," he said. "The president of Corinthians already know that I am interested in and what I want." (Brazilian TV station Terra)

hope this is in the right place, it's been a while!

No chance. rafa loves this boy and I hope he comes good. Rafa got abuse for sticking by Kuyt 2 years ago and if it wasnt for the phenomenon that is stevie G Id have given Kuyt out player of the year last year. This year I bet Lucas comes good.

I'd be stunned if Lucas left.

We'd be rightly screwed if he and Alonso left.

I'm expecting big things of him this season.

Agree,I think Xabi leaving takes the shackles off Lucas.
I really hope he shows the form that made him "Brazilian player of the Year".
    Can`t see Rafa selling him.

All I can say about Lucas is he is very hot and cold, loads of stray passes and not much passion in my opinion. He could be useful to have in a midfield that could be severely weakened in a few days. Hoping that does not come true.

If we got the money back and a better replacement, I would be happy enough for him to head off. I reckon its bullshit though.

Have to agree. I thought he was one of the few players against Espanyol that looked decent. Could be a big year for him, I hope so. I've been one o his biggest critics on here but I'd love to see him come good this year

i'm still in the minority so...as usual. I dont rate him at all, 2 years at the club and i dont think he's any good whatsoever. poor erratic passing, cant tackle and has a strike rate of a goal a season...and he's knocked over by the breeze of players running past him. not strong enough for the prem league and def not good enough for a starting place on the liverpool team. i see virtually no improvement in him at all and am still worried every time he plays...but rafa loves him so what u gonna do. spearing aint great but he's bloody hercules compared to lucas

I know exactly what you mean mate cos thats what ive said on here the whole of last season but for some reason hes looked quite handy in preseason and hes even getting forward and making attempts on goal. last season he played with his back to the oposing goal...maybe he sees his chance with Xabi in limbo

i still thinks he needs too much time on the ball to pick a pass and thats why he gets dispossessed too easily...and barring a diet of calf-nuts and anabolic steroids he's always gonna be puny. i'd love to see him do well, just like you wish any liverpool player to do well, but my head says this guy aint the answer. but he aint the only one tbh - he at leat has been better than degen, dossena, ngog and the utterly hapless voronin. if those 4 make the bench for any prem game this season, or god forbid CL game, i think i'm gonna cry

im not a huge fan of his either.he seems to take forever picking a pass and more often than not it goes backwards.he never makes incisive passes like Xabi and always takes the safe option.going forward he has no impact whatsoever but im willing to give him one more season.he's had two years to bed in so if he doesn't step it up this year he'll be off.

I agree, one more year abd if you cant perform then its time to look elsewhere. i dont believe hes that bad a player moreso that it just isnt working for him in the prem. I would love to see a big season from him and i do believe he has potential. C'mon lucas, we're all behind you buddy!
