    Am I right in thinking Birmingham's win today means one less Europa League place via the Premier League for next season?

    Yes only 5th in the league get into Europa League and the winners of the Europa League get back in aswell

    6th in the league if the FA Cup winner has already qualified via their league position as far as I know.

    No the runners up would get the Europa place. Only reason we qualified last year in 7th is because Portsmouth couldnt get the European license due to their financial situation (or something like that).

    Unless of course both finalists have already qualified for Europe.

    try beat United first. no I get what you mean. be no harm to be able to concentrate soley on the league next season. cant afford another season out of CL.

    The FA Cup runner up would get a place in Europe if the winner has already qualified before a sixth place league finish position.

    Only 1 to go I reckon we can do it :D

    So basically we need a mancs derby in the FA Cup final.Looks like we will have to win in Dublin to make sure.
    1 point is a massive ask from the last 10 games.:D

    I would probably prefer not to be in the Europa league next season so that we can focus on finishing in the top 4 next season without having to play on Thursday night football. The level of competition we have played this season has been dreadful.

    We've not won 1 away game yet so far and the games are only going to get tougher. If we are not in europe next season if/when we are back in the champions league we will not be seeded I don't think so that's why its very important we are in it. Play the young fellas but we got to qualify.

    Looks like only 5th spot might get a spot in the Europa cup , with the Brummies getting a spot yesterday ...


    IF Bolton, Leyton Orient, Stoke, West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton or Reading make it to the final of the FA cup, one of those teams will get a place in the Europa League so not 6th spot available.

    I'd prefer not to have Europe next season and just rebuild from scratch in the summer, hard to see how we'll attract top players without european football though, Comolli has his work cut out for him.

    We need to be in Europe, even if it is in this Europa league, as our points will decrease, and when we get back into the champions league we would end up falling in pot 3 if we werent in Europe for a period of time, so its important for us..

    I bet you'll all want us to be in europe next season when we're in the Europa League Final this May.

    Realistically I dont see us finishing top five in the league. So unless 6th gets a qualifying spot this time around, then we'll have to win the europa league to qualify. That seems realistic to me. I reckon we've as good a chance of winning it as any of the other teams left.

    Oh and by the way, why the fook couldnt they have just left it as the UEFA Cup? That "Europa League" title is poxy

    If we win it and 6th place is gone as a qualifying spot does that mean whoever is in 5th won't get in?
