Almost one year later and I'm choking on humble pie .... fair play to him, he's really proven me wrong & hopefully, will continue to, for many years to come.
Jordan had a very good season this year a deserving winner last year. Fair play to Liam and his friends on the RAOTL for organising these awards. They looked absolutely class on Sunday. This year's Sambas's went to Luis, Philip and of course a special one to Jaime. Loads of pics on propaganda's and getty's websites and by the look on the faces of the players with these unique fan inspired awards something they are no doubt very proud to receive.
Talk about underrated this guy hasn't got a mention since may. Thought his performance against stoke was excellent against another keeper might have had 2 goals. His interchanges with aspas in particular we're lovely. Really delighted with this guy.
I like him a lot but I disagree he was excellent against Stoke. I thought he really didnt get involved enough in the first half. Much better second half though.
Interesting I thought he was better in the first half. Thought his movement in particular was excellent. Should have prob scored when he was put through by coutinho but so unlucky not score off aspas back heel. Love the way he has the ability to drop a bit deeper as needed.
Fair enough mate. That's football,sometimes people see different things. I'm not saying he was poor at any time,just would have liked him to get more involved in the overall play. For what its worth I thought we only had 2 maybe 3 players who I'd say were excellent on the day.
I'd agree I didn't think he was great in the first half and was worried he was gonna get hooked for Allen early in the second half! Had an excellent second half though.
He has a great engine & is honest as the day is long. I would like to him get a few more goals this season for us, I can see him being a big player for us this season.
i think he is terribly under rated by our own fan base, might not be as eye catching as Gerrard or as much of a stopper as Lucas but he does all the dirty work inbetween, very rarely loses the ball either, watched him for the England U21's and as captain he was the boss, rekon he would grow a lot with more responsability.
He's better than Cleverly and that tossers never out of the England set up. Hope he starts against Villa but I wouldn't be surprised to see Allen in again sooner or later.
I don't think you can truly appreciate Henderson's work on the television. You need lads like him in the squad. Honest players willing to play anywhere each week and give 100% and not moan. If he can add more goals to his game he could be a permanent fixture in the team.
I think Henderson will get the nod against Villa, but might play a deeper role than he did against Stoke. I wouldn't be mad if Joe Allen got the nod to play a forward role though, Villas defence are slow to react and Joe gets into clever positions in the box
