There's something amiss there certainly, whether it's that his attitude is wrong or he's not fitting into the style of football, or both, I don't know but he does look sluggish most of the time. I agree with what a few have said that he needs to put himself about a bit more even it means giving away a few free kicks. At least it'd give the defender something to think about. He was an absolute wrecking ball at Newcastle and dominated every centre back in the league, that's the player we all want to see.
That last bit is what does my head in, you don't need confidence to smash a centre half into next week. You don't need to be playing for your home town club either, you just need to do it! I'd love to know how many yellow cards he's picked up, I don't remember any of the top of my head, he should be nearing double digits at this stage. Maybe he's got it into his head that he's more than a battering ram and wants to show off his silky skills If he plays tomorrow he should eat Smalling and Evans for breakfast, no excuses.
Id start him tomorrow. Then first thing he should do is get into the box and go right through whichever useless keeper they've got in goals. Their keeper will shit bricks for the rest of the game.
I would start him 2moro as it could be a chance for him to finnally kickstart his Liverpool career if he scores but to be honest I can't see us in years to come saying Andy Carroll was a LFC legend. For me he is just simply not good enough & 4 goals this season is not a great return on £35 million pounds.
I agree in one sence, but if that were Craig Bellamy/Stevie G/Carra/Suarez they would for sure be letting the supporting players know about it. In my opinion he needs to become more of a c*nt, everyone in the league including his teamates should be terrified of this guy.
He needs to get his swagger back.If a defender hits then dig back, within the laws of the game obviously. If he could get one or two goals in big games his confidence would soar, the fans would adore him and the other players would look for him with every pass and cross. As it is, he seems to not have the cheek to look for the passes that suarez looks for, and doesnt take up the positions he could and would be a goalscoring threat in. I reckon the system doesnt help but its not an excuse, he needs to call the shots on field and earn the other players respect and trust that he will win the ball.As it is ya can sense the pressure hes under every time he plays. It seems to be one of those things that the less he tries the easier and quicker it will come back to him. Two goals against united tomoro and another against cardiff next month and he will be on the road to being a superstar
He needs to start tomorrow and have a stellar game...it is certainly in him and there will be no bigger stage. A big performance can turn his season around. Let's hope he does the business. Go Reds!
Personally I'd rather not start Carroll simply because at present we look a much better side without him but I can see him starting if Bellamy not able to play.
Battled like fcuk and with crap service for the majority of the game. And still was sharp towards the end. Very good performance, unlucky at the end to hit the bar, he did very well.
One of his best performances for us today. Did great up front by himself. Hopefully we can get the service to him and he can start banging them in
What a performance by Big Andy we need him playing like that wevery time he gets a game and the goals will start flowing .
Was just amazing today.Broke his balls for the team and you could see his happiness in the celebrations as well.SO unlucky with the header.Hopefully today will give him the belief to start banging them in but the service he receives sure does let alot to be desired.
Now THAT was the Andy Carroll we want to see. Great performance today. Hope to see him kick on now from that.
At last a performance. Lad just needs to realise that he's not being slated for not scoring, mis-controlling etc... it's for lack of effort and whining. Hopefully today is a watershed for him
Not only impressed in opposition half working hard, but I remember one particular incident when they were on top in second half and had possesion about twenty yards outside our box, then Andy comes flying onto the tv screen and wins the ball back.
