Where abouts in Drumcondra is that? I'll be there tonight might give it a whirl.
Used to be a big fan of Ezios on Amien street but haven't been there since they did it up. Unfortunately it can be the roughest place in dublin at times too!

I assume you've been there by now, but anyway, just down (south) from the train station. Closes at 10pm in the evening though.
When in the Tram, Fountain and Toni's were the two nearest chippers, Fountain was nearest to get to, but Toni's was cheaper.
In the city centre, Fusciardi's is good in Jervis Street, unless it's shut, which it normally is when I pass by it.

However, Burdocks off Phibsboro isn't too far behind.
We have more chippers in Cabra than sense and yet there all a big let down....

Most expensive chipper I've been in. €4.80 for a Junior Box, €6.80 for a Snack Box, €1.10 for a Coke can.
Junior/Snack box in chippers in Inchicore/Crumlin area are up to €1.50 cheaper.

If so it is a burger in a bun with all the normal stuff in it but instead of the normal burger in it, its a batter burger instead ! hope that makes sense

LOL
Your a gas man Willie, at least he's still frying potatoes ... most of the feckers near me have resorted to flrozen bags of chips, which has put me right off them to be honest.
One or two of the spots Declan etc mentioned up near DCU are good, but a bit of a long walk ... even when I am full of beer and ready to take on the world

What ?
Your either 7 years out of date here mate, or I've been missing out big time over the past few months.
That place used to cause lads to leave the Dollymount House before closing time, back in the day ... there was only a limited amount of breasts of chicken and everyone wanted one, so lads used to skip their last pint to ensure they got one some of the time
... mind you, that was many years ago now. It was sold several years back and since the day the current owners bought it, it went down hill ....crap chips, change in chicken coating etc so the custom dropped off. Then to add insult to injury, they closed the Dollymout House, which probably resulted in even more punters giving it a miss.
The irony being the place is now up for sale again (so fingers crossed the new owners will sort it out) !
