FAI are financially f*cked because, true to form, they relied on the prawn sandwich brigade being the answer to any dept required to be paid from their end. Now thats blown up in their face they are reverting to a plan B which seems to be fobbing off so many games as a package for what they think is a
reasonable price when most of the games will be sh1ty friendlies anyway.

To think all you have to do to get an Ireland match ticket these days is to log onto ticketmaster just goes to show how much the FAI as per usual, has fooked things right up.

The premium level was a disgrace the other night against Andorra. There were blocks upon blocks of seats entirely empty. Most of the corporate boxes were completely empty as well. The fact we haven't qualified for a major tournament in years and the recession seems to have went straight over the heads of the FAI. They're now paying for it. Not a chance they're going to sell the premium seats now. If they have any brains at all they should offer the premium level to long standing and loyal block bookers at €50 to €70, for say a two campaign period. Then offer the regular seats vacated by the BB's to people on the waiting list for the same period. But that would be too simple, instead they'll be a laughing stock when the same seats are empty for the biggest game against Russia next month.

It all comes down to Greed with the FAI..

50 euro for what was baiscally a cat c game is too much..They should have dropped the prices and get kids into the ground, as they are going to be the future of the game.

I remember we were able to get schoolboy tickets off our pe teacher in school for £2 in the mid 90's, where is that offer these days to school kids to get them to games, if you had a couple of kids that wanted to go to game you couldnt do it at €50 a pop

Back in 2001 the Holland match ticket I had was 28 punts which is the equivilant of 35 euros. Those tickets were in West Stand Lower just to the right of the half way line. The same seats now are 70. That is 100% increase in 9 years.

Decided earlier in the year, I was not going to anymore home games cause of the FAI greed, will be tough for the Russia match as it could be a cracker. I will be watching from the comfort of my couch Mr Delany.

They had an offer for an adult and three kids for €50 for the adult and €10 per kid, so €80 isn't bad.

If they actually used the money for the benefit of irish football I could accept the prices they charge. Fact is the league is fooked and 95% of people playing ball tomorrow will be getting changed in the rain, me included:eek:

Tom and George will get my money before Delaney does.

Spot on. Andorra/Armenia/Macedonia should all be €30/€35 in, and they should be looking to fill the stadium. I've no problem paying €50 for the bigger games, even though I think it's still over-priced, at least there'd be logic behind the ticket pricing then. Their greed is biting them in the arse now. It'll be interesting to see how the attendance fares for Russia. No doubt the FAI will swell the premium levels with Corpos on a jolly.
