Girl i work with had her bank card skimmed over the weekend in the AIB machine on Grafton street and the BOI machine on Bray main street. Just thought i'd mention it for anyone who may use these machines.

    Fair play for the alert.

FYI – permanent tsb ATM machines have all been fitted with anti-skimming devices. As soon as the card reader is tampered with or seeming to be tampered with the machines automatically put themselves out of service. They are the first banks to have this technology so at the moment are the safest to use.

I’m sure the criminals are working on a way of getting around this but for the moment I’d recommend using permanent tsb machines above all others!

It has happened to me a few times. Very annoying having to wait for a new card and changing details.

Card insurance is very cheap and well worth it.

It was more than likely skimmed in a different machine, and they used the 2 above machines to withdraw the cash.

    P.S

If anyone ever gets a text/email from a bank, DO NOT REPLY to it whatsoever. Banks do not communicate this way EVER. A customer of ours(a solicitor for gods sake) was stupid enough to enter every single code of his code card into an email from a hoax AIB account, and they managed to clear him out for €10,000!!!!!

To be honest mate, I'd hold the Bank 100% responsible if my card got ripped and then cash was taken from my account, so won't be paying for card insurance myself thanks very much. Can't agree with it - banks have an obligation to ensure security of your funds etc.

Four people in work have had their card skimmed at the Ulster Bank ATM on the corner of Earlsfort Terrace. Couple of them hadn't used it in weeks and the money was taken today

Lads, two girls I know have had their cards skimmed somewhere in Bray this week. They're not allowed know where for some reason but it was in Bray. Be careful.

    What bank are they with,
Could it be linked to Bank of Ireland problems?

All they were told was that it was probably a non-AIB ATM. Hope that helps!

That ATM will either be still in shutdown mode or the issue is resolved, no need to be steering clear of it if its dispensing cash.
