TV is defo jacked, there is a fault in screen. The guy that looked at it is trying to see will Samsung do anything for me as its faulty and should not break down after two years. Anyone know if you have any consumer rights if a product is faulty but out of warranty(even if its two years from when I bought it)?
Been doing some investigations on this and seems if the item is faulty, you can claim up to six years after purchase. I am getting a report on the fault and will be straight down to powercity with it, the tv and a copy of 'Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980' http://www.rte.ie/tv/theafternoonshow/2010/0126/consumertinatackles850.html Failing all that, Joe will be the next step...
Have to say once I brought it down to powercity last week, they were very helpful and they would try and sort it with Samsung. Rang today and the tv will be repaired at no cost to me (Would have been 700) even though its out of warranty. Result!!
Nearly a year to the day that the screen went bust, power supply is now Fcked and 150 quid to get it repaired. Not even three years old. Never buying Samsung again. Rang their customer service and they said it's not a common fault. One google search tells you it's more than common with a clicking sound and picture not displaying. Lost the head on the phone with Complaints department.
