I havnt seen much La Liga this year but Im astonished to hear he's out of favour. He's a brilliant footballer. If we were to sign him though I don't know where he's gonna play? Rafa's A huge fan of Kuyt

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool are in talks to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, who is out of contract in the summer, has fallen out of favour at Atletico and the Spaniards are understood to be willing to let him move on.

The 27-year-old is believed to be keen on a move away from the Vicente Calderon as he looks to secure his spot in Argentina's World Cup squad by playing regular first-team football.

Boca Juniors have been linked with a move to bring the winger back to his native Argentina, but Liverpool are thought to be favourites for his signature.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bolster his squad in the January transfer window and with Rodriguez available for a small fee, he fits the bill for what Benitez is looking for.

Think he can play both sides of the field but being right footed think he should play out right. Kuyt may be a favourite but his form has gone out the window, Rodriguez would offer so much more.

Maybe this is Rafa's win of, sort of, killing two birds with one stone, Buying a winger, and a forward, ie Dirk, if not playing on the wing he'll be on as a striker, we all know he can score goals

hopefully this will happen now and not be just all rumours, if it is true fair play to rafa for moving so quick, maybe he's gonna start using kuyt as back up for torres more?

the quicker he signs the better as well, we`re in need of something at the moment, so no point in dragging this out until the end of the month

I hope he's not gonna be used as a backup for Torres. I rate him highly as a winger but not as a striker at all. Well not in the premier league anyway

We could do with a boost like this.
Hopefully we can grab him for the rest of the year, he does well, and we get him for nowt afterwards!

Ye are all way too optimistic about this, yes he MIGHT be a good signing, but lest ye forget we were also link to Ribery last Summer, dont start jumping for joy just yet

Think this is class if true. As mentioned earlier - 2 positions with 1 stone. Right winger in Maxi and a second striker in Kuyt. Kuyt has not been his usual self this season and Rafa doesn't stand on ceremony, remember Alonso. Hope this rumour comes true

Maybe he is buying him as a right full now that Johnson is injured...........after all we all know Kuyt is never gonna be dropped!!!!:p

Nothing like a bit of positivity and optomism for a change eh???#
In all seriousness though it will be great to have a proper winger in the side for a change!!
