Carlsberg partners with The S88 to offer drinks vouchers for 13,000 pubs

Carlsberg is offering drinkers a free pint in 13,000 pubs on the August Bank Holiday weekend in what it claims is one of the biggest ever free pint giveaways in the on-trade ever.

The promotion will run in The S** on Saturday, August 23, and will offer all 3.2 million readers (over 18 years of age) a voucher which can be redeemed for a free pint of Carlsberg on Sunday, August 24.

This week, all pubs taking part will receive promotional posters to build excitement and awareness around the event. All free pints can be redeemed by participating outlets against the average cost of a pint of Carlsberg, reckoned by the brand to be £2.50 in the UK.

S88 readers can find their nearest participating outlet by logging onto www8888888888888888888888 Carlsber...go to the pub over the Bank Holiday weekend.”

You have to wonder what the hell the big wigs at Carlsberg were thinking? Did they forget that they sponsor Liverpool or are they just that ignorant of the clubs history with the rag.

I know what I would be putting into the pint of any Red that takes them up on the offer .. and it aint Carlsberg.

What an unbelievable tasteless move by Carlsberg. I dont think they will hear the end of this one for a while, and rightly so.

I can smell a Carlsberg Bycott in the air.

Lads I see marthonman got there before me, but please refrain from posting up any links / phone numbers etc to the rag. It's essentially free advertisement for the filth.

    Disgraceful.
Any of you guys members of other Liverpool sites should post this up to make them aware of what our sponsors call acceptable business practice.

I'm sure Adidas,Unibet and Setanta have done business with the scum also.
Where do we draw the line with boycotts??
As someone said above the politics dont matter to them.
I'd say our time with them is nearing an end anyway.
Anyone going home tonight to tear Carlsberg off there jerseys or throwing cans out of the fridge?

    Sad but true.

Carlsberg don't give a toss about Liverpool fans - Carlsberg just care about making money.

But no sponsor of LFC should be tolerated linking up with the Scumrag.

Surely that one thing wasn't too much to ask

it amazes me how some people get these high profile positions in business, you really would think that the brand who is our clubs main sponsor would do some homework and look into the history of our great club

our 'proud' sponsor should have realized the effects of that tragic day in 1989 and the aftermath of the the ''TRUTH'' printed by that RAG!

Like i said above lads Carlsberg do not give a crap about who there sponsering what they represent there history the history of there fans what they have been through good or bad and why would they . They spend millions to sponser us so they can make money not so they can keep losing it which brings me to my second point. If they did there research theywould have realised that the team they sponsor boycot that rag for obvious reasons meaning they wouldn have gone into a deal with the scum rag .

Basically there reasons for doing it were for business but if this gets out and it will it was a bad business move

Without wanting to sound smart Daz/Marathonman do you really think that is why I started the thread?!! I didnt think there was any reason to edit the contact info as it is useless to Irish reds but the story certainly isn't. I know advertising is not allowed on here but come on, you know why I started this thread.

Mate I;ve no problem at all with the thread or highlighting the issue and I don;t for one second think that that's the reason you started the thread. But site rules are that no possible links / advertisement for the rag are allowed and in my opinion, if there's any doubt, it should be removed.

Thats cool but if people wanted to take this further they would need any links to forward onto the club and Carlsberg. As I said I'm not being smart I just think that in this case the more info on this we can give the club the better.

Reason for not posting links/ads promoting this is that unfortunately we have people on site that don't respect the ban and hence it is advertising this promo.
    Unbelievable but true.
