Seems to be happening more and more lately, and something needs to be done to check players out to make sure their heart is working correctly. Amazing Gesture by the player himself, and i am sure he didn't do it for a award or anything like that.
Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale to look after disabled sister of Piermario Morosini UDINESE captain Antonio Di Natale will look after the sister of Piermario Morosini after he died during a Serie B game. Morosini, 25, was on loan at Livorno when he collapsed and died during a clash with Pescara on Saturday. Udinese has confirmed plans to look after the player's only remaining family member, his severely disabled sister. The player's sister relied on Morosini for financial support following the death of their parents, and Di Natale has assured that Udinese will now look after her. "We know the situation of his sister and we as a team, the club, and Udinese for Life have decided to help her because she is in real need," Di Natale said. "It is essential to stay by the side of Piermario’s sister for her entire life. She needs us and we want to help, both for her and for Mario. "When I saw the scene on the TV it was immediately clear that it was something serious. It was a very bad moment. He was an exceptional lad, so full of life. Despite all the problems he had, he was always at the disposal of the team and every day he gave us all strength." The Italian Football Association (FIGC) opted to cancel all Serie A fixtures in the wake of Morosini's tragic death. Independent

Sad to hear that another top sports person has died of cardiac arrest ------------------------------------------------------------------- Norwegian swimming champion Alexander Dale Oen dead Norway's world swimming champion Alexander Dale Oen has died suddenly in the US, aged 26, the country's swimming federation says. In July 2011, Dale Oen won gold medal in the 100m breast-stroke at the Fina World Championships in Shanghai. He was found collapsed in a shower late on Monday after training in Flagstaff, Arizona, Norwegian media say. Friends said he had appeared healthy earlier. Emergency services arrived within minutes but were unable to revive him. Norwegian Swimming Federation President Per Rune Eknes said he had suffered a cardiac arrest. Oen's last tweet on Monday, as he was coming to the end of training in the US, said "2 days left of our camp up here in Flagstaff, then its back to the most beautiful city in Norway #Bergen". Oen won a silver medal in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and was considered a strong hope for this summer's London Games. His gold medal in Shanghai came shortly after Anders Behring Breivik murdered 77 people in Oslo and the island of Utoeya and at the time he described the events at home as a motivation for him. "We can't let this guy ruin the future for us," he said.
It looks like Ireland will be playing a friendly in Livorno in memory of Morosini and the proceeds going to help his sister.: Ireland look set to play a pre-Euro 2012 friendly against a Tuscany selection to raise funds for the family of the late Piermario Morosini. Morosini, 25, collapsed and died during a Serie B match for Livorno earlier this month from a heart attack. Ireland will spend a week prior to this year's European Championship in Montecatini and boss Giovanni Trapattoni told reporters in Mullingar that he is keen for the fundraiser to go ahead. "We have discussed it with the organisers of the camp and with the FAI. It's not done yet but everybody agrees it is a good gesture," said the Italian. Funds from the game will be used to help the late player's severely disabled younger sister, for whom Morosini provided during his playing career. He was laid to rest on April 19. http://www.soccerway.com/news/2012/April/30/ireland-to-play-morosini-fundraiser/
