Re-read it with City 2 points behind with a game in hand, my bad!
Wow we were 7 points ahead of this city juggernaut..that must make us pretty good as well!
And in a competition played over 38 games
We're not just pretty good mate, we're an excellent football team, genuinely one of the best around at the moment both in England and Europe.
But yet we only have a small chance
Bookies have us at 2/1 and City at 2/5, it sounds about right to me but the bookies aren't always right!
LFC were 1/5 in 13/14 before Chelsea game
I fancy a punt on J.
maddison...Been impressed by him all season..
We were linked before he went to Leicester. He's basically a young Lallana.
Hazard is good
Smashing goal from Hazard. I have felt for awhile that he is the only thing between us and the league, prick shows up at Anfield every time.
Is there any truth in a gentleman’s agreement for fekir?
Thought I heard or read something in the last couple of days
Memphis depay ,probably get for around 35/40 million, can score all types of goals and create, klopp would mould him well, also a point to prove in the premier league.
Unlikely to be involved in what could be a bidding war for him, but that lad at Lille - Nicolas Pepe would be a serious addition. Greased lightning, great finisher and can play anywhere across the front 3.
Going for him cause we dont really have traditional forwards, do we?
I sometimes think that the "missing" link between our midfield and attack is already at the club and if we brought in someone to play down the middle with Mo and Sadio either side, Bobby played deeper would be interesting to see. He already covers as much ground as any midfielder, tackles and can carry the ball. Would be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better "late arriving midfielder" too.
I’d love hazard
James Maddison. Had a great season at Norwich playing the right style of football. Then went to Leicester and had another good season there creating the most chances outside of the top 6. He is young and will only develop into a better player. Id imagine there would be a big few involved though.
If we are looking at potential - Brookes at Bournemouth.
If we are looking at top quality to fit in immediately - Coutinho, Brandt, Fekir spring to mind.
Maddison disappointed me this season. I thought that he would influence more. I think Jack Grealish would be a better option than him if you were buying domestically.
Grealish will be moving if Villa don't get promoted, how much he's moving for is probably a lot more than what we're willing to pay and who's place in the team he could take is up for debate for me too.
I agree Ed.
There is little value in England. There is talk of mad money for Sessegnon who had a disappointing season at Fulham. However, he might prosper at a side like Liverpool not being in a relegation dogfight.
By the way, I was serious about Phil. If the price was right, I'd have him back tomorrow. He is a wonderful player and I know that many will be unhappy about how he engineered his move to Barca but it no different than VVD coming to us or many other players who angled for a move.
He is world class.
I think we are a much better team without him. He needs to have a team built around him and the amount of chances he wasted from distance was a luxury few teams could afford. I don't hate him like some do, I just don't think he will fit in our team without disimproving the balance we have now.
