What journalist is it ?
... I'm wondering whether it's complete horsesh1t, or if there may be some substance to it and the journo will give some indication.
Must admit, if you'd given me 20 guesses, I probably wouldn't have ever though of him, young but talented from what I know of him.. mind me asking what brought him into your head mate ?
Telegraph Jason Burt I think.
According to the Telegraph’s Jason Burt, who was speaking to our friends on Anfield Index, Jurgen Klopp is in fact lining up ‘an interesting’ option to replace Phil as Liverpool’s no.10 – not somebody currently discussed in the media.
He says that he’s been asked specifically not to write who the player is, adding that he doesn’t think it’s achievable either!
Was speculation before we bought salah as a mane back up
I have to say that is one of the poorest clickbait type articles I've seen on a reputable website. There's nothing in it but bland speculation and ultimately claims the player they don't know is likely unavailable. I love their sign off about it not being a protracted issue too which is meaningless as they don't know who the player is and believe him to be unavailable, the mind boggles
Ozil for free in the summer. Our midfield 3 would be ozil, keita and hendo/gini/lallana. Playing behind bobby , salah and mane. Buy a decent keeper , another defender and we would be title contenders.
Isn't there a chance of getting Ozil now ?
I’d guess £30-35m
Even better. If available then get him in .
Wouldn't be looking at Ozil, can seem world class in one game and none existent in the next three. He seems too lazy for our system of play, would prefer Mahrez to him even.
That's true about Ozil, but is it a problem with him being at Arsenal, or a problem with the player ?
I suppose his reputation still carries quite a bit of weight if we are to be honest, but how many good games has he had this season for example ? Off the top of my head, I'm inclined to say very few but then I'm also not sure if he's been injured or fit during the entire period.
My read of the situation at Arsenal, is that Ozil, Sanchez and probably a few others are all available this window, but I'm also expecting Arsenal to try and get Lemar or someone else this window too. I think they must make some changes this window if they want to really try and get a CL spot back, a second year out of the CL and they've got problems (not that I'm complaining as it reduces our competition )
True enough they have offloaded Ox, Walcott, Sanchez (to whom not confirmed) and it looks like Ozil is going but no real replacements lined up apart from signing Lacazette in the summer that is of real note. They play great football when on song but aren't consistent enough so I think they are least likely to make top four between ourselves them and Spurs.
Ozil would not get in the Liverpool team. Best position is an attacker in 4-2-3-1. Don't see a role him in Klopps system at all, plus he is lazy.
Agree don’t see him suiting Klopps philosophy.
I’d prefer Sanchez from those 2 , but not going to happen and hopefully not to Utd either
Wouldn't touch Ozil tbh. Far too inconsistent throughout his career so far not just at Arsenal. On his day brilliant though but not sure he's a Klopp type player
Seen something on twitter today of the top performers in european football with a breakdown of there stats and this guy is really impressive. One thing that stood out was the amount of ball recoveries per minute. Firmino topped the poll with a recovery every 27 mins however Fekir was not too far behind, meaning he has that in his game never mind the goals and assists. he seems like he would be a Klopp type player.
Surprised nobody went in last summer or Jan at €60m
