    Folks,

Can anyone recommend a reliable VPN to put on an android box to allow me to get BBC iPlayer etc?

It has to be easy to install (i.e. idiotproof!!). I don't mind paying either.

    Thanks!!

Sites such as BBC iplayer use geolocation to restrict their content.
Some VPNs can get around this and some can't.

I'm using ExpressVPN at the moment and I can watch the iPlayer.
I haven't put it on my android box but I believe it is fairly simple.

How do you find your VPN when accessing US Netflix or similar?

Is it expensive or have you had any issues with it?

I don't have Netflix but I remember ExpressVPN was advertised (on review sites) as working well with US Netflix.
I only recently changed VPN in the last 6 months from Private Internet Access to Express, because amongst other reasons, PIA was not able to unblock the BBC iPlayer.
I did a fair bit of research and Express and Nord were consistently the top 2 VPNs reviewed.
I went with Express as it had the specific server locations that I was looking for.
I bought a year subscription which works out about €6 a month where Nord was about €3.
I can only use Express on 3 devices but Nord allows 6 devices.
I haven't had any problems with it.

Fair play to you Colly, great info.

I'm not a tech person at all. It seems that Nord would allow me get BBC iPlayer if I set the location to UK. I don't bother with Netflix as Showtime, Morpheus etc have most things I need.

Would you recommend Nord for someone with basic enough needs like me.

finally, is it easy to install on different devices etc?

    Thanks again!!

I’ve Nord on two devices and it is simple to use. I got it at a reduced up front rate a few years ago.

But if I can use it, anyone can.

    Thanks Honald.

Believe me, you simply cannot be as technically clueless as I am. I am far from stupid (usually!), but when it comes to tech/IT issues, I find it hard to get past the on/off button!!

My 13 year old son comes with me when its time to replace my phone and chats to the store assistant on my behalf!!

Yes, as Honald says, it's easy to use and to set up.
The usual...click download, click install and enter your password. That's how it was for my laptop and phone.
For the Android box it should be similar as I think there's a Nord app on the Play store.

Check and see if they have a free trial period or money back guarantee.

Decided to put ExpressVPN on my android box (Nvidia shield) to see if BBC iPlayer would work.
    It didn't.
It works on my laptop and the ITV player works on the box so it's something specific between BBC and the box.
My location settings are turned off and I've read that side-loading the app instead of getting it from Play store on the box might work so will give that a go.

    @honald_tdb
Do you use Nord on an android box for BBC?

No, I use it on a laptop and iPad. I’m in uae so it’s hit and miss but that’s not the fault of the program. It’s nearly impossible to get steady vpn here as it’s strictly illegal and actively blocked.
