Thatcher had no respect for the miners, northerners, the working class, ethnic minorities, the irish etc etc.

All from a greengrocer's daughter who went to a comprehensive school.

    Disgusting person.

I don't agree with her view but she believed you could be anything you want to be if you worked hard enough no matter what background you came from, if you didn't it was your own fault.
    Mr Varadkar is very similar

I think though both their outlooks is that whatever it takes, walk over people, sideline people, don’t Care who gets in the way and you will make it to the top.

Thatcher was a horrible cunt and I hope she died in pain. But if she had one quality that Varadkar doesn't have, its that as disgusting as her beliefs were, she stuck to them because she genuinely believed they were in the national interest. There's no belief Varadkar holds that he won't have a road to Damascus conversion on if it's in his interests.

Follow several procedurals and have done for years (obviously)
Chicago Med, Fire not PD for some reason
NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, and because of lack of viewing started season 1 of NCIS LA recently
    Station 19

All were off air for the past several months but are trickling back and it seems that that form of escapism from the world of Covid is now closed.

First episode of NCIS NO and a ship is held offshore because of a suspicious death (see murder) as the city morgue deals with the huge influx of deaths due to Covid. Vast majority of the acting done behind masks and visors.
Have the Chicago ones to watch but couldnt be arsed watching another program with fictional characters dealing with a pandemic, we're all seeing more than enough of that daily.

    My fix for this?

Ive downloaded another 4 seasons of NCIS LA - pre Covid.
    3 Expendable movies
    6 Jurassic park/world/shorts films
    Jaws and The Meg
    About a dozen Marvel/DC movies
    All the Die Hards

Aint no virus stopping Dinosaurs, giant sharks, Sly and Arnie and gang, 2 dozen assorted super heroes/Villains and John yippie kai eh McClain

I'm also a fan of both The Crown and City on The Hill - both really good viewing.

I also watched S01 Stumptown recently, enjoyed it.

Power - Book 2: Ghost was also okay, bit early to call it yet, as they've only released 5-6 episodes.

Tried a few episodes of the be Spitting Image recently, but thought they were fairly poor - really disappointed, as I used to love the original series, years ago.

The latest season of Fargo has been rolling out, so that's on my list to watch soon.

    Anyone tried Ted Lasso, yet?

There was a good prog on BBC the other night, bury: bringing football back. Crazy that the EFL allowed someone to buy the club without doing proper financial checks on him.
It's on YouTube but the sound goes a couple of times for a few secs during it.

Watched the Queens Gambit before it was hip. I thought it was great but equally if I was to watch it now with sky high expectations I probably wouldn't think it was that great. Probably says more about me than the show.

Do you need to have a knowledge of chess? I'm only going by the trailer here and to be honest i thought it was a film which shows the amount of attention I gave it.

Didn’t realise there was a new Fargo.

Really into this Fauda show in Netflix. It’s rarely rough stuff but gripping at times. Also shows both sides of the conflict over.

Started to watch a show called “Alone” . It’s on the History channel but you can get it on all third party Apps.

It’s about 10 people who are dropped into a island off Vancouver and they have to film themselves and survive and if they are the last they win 500k. It’s mad watching the way they have to learn to fend for themselves and make shelter and the mental aspect of it too.

Tried a couple of episodes of Ridley Scotts new one, Raised by Wolves, but couldn't get into it, at all.

    Anyone else?

I think it says more about how expectations affect opinion.
I wouldn't have gone near the show but when I saw the ratings I expected something amazing.
    It wasn't imo.
It was good so I enjoyed it but I was also disappointed it was nowhere near the levels of hype surrounding it.
If I had watched it without knowing the ratings I would been pleasantly surprised, not disappointed.

Another one I had no interest in was The Morning Show but the Mrs picked it and I thought it was very good.
It shows the behind the scenes politics and back stabbing at a tv network and the fallout from the #metoo movement.
Billy Crudup is excellent in it.

Wife loved it, I could take it or leave it.
Great production etc but the story/characters never hooked me.
