Included in that are probably Chiesa, Ramsey, Carvalho and Ben Davies who probably haven’t had 20 starts between. I had Melo included but he was only an expensive Loan
Ornstein saying us, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs all in for Huijsen with 50 mil release clause. All biases aside, you would think we would be the best destination for him
Real apparently in the mix so they would be in with a good shout at a Spanish youngster you would think. Lad seems to have big plans and ideas about himself since turning down a contract with Juventus.
Going to be a very interesting summer at the club in terms of how many new bodies we'll see coming in and how many we might see going out the door. Things I'm watching out for in particular, will Slot go after another Zubimendi type player? I think his preference was to have two players in this position but with how well this season went with Gravenberch might his opinion have changed, I think we need backup there either way but probably not the most pressing concern. Right back - assuming TAA is gone is Bradley the assumed starter and what's the backup plan there? And same for left back, I think Andy is probably nearing the end of his road with us and it woudl only be sentimentality that gave him another season as the starting full back - is Tsmiikas our guy there with him gone? Up front - assuming Chiesa is gone, Elliot might look for an exit as his game time is incredibly limited, Nunez we'd probably be willing to part ways with also. If we can get in players who offer more to the squad there's no reason why we can't improve on our current squad albeit losing Trent does weaken us and Salah won't be able to match this seasons efforts so we need others to chip in. Kelleher probably gone too which is a pity for us Irish fans of the club. I'm sure there's other obvious ones I've missed here too but I think there'll be a lot of upheaval.
I reckon Kerkez is a certainty. Which left back leaves is open to debate. I also think we'll buy a Kostas type right back and leave Bradley as the number 1. Nunez will leave and be replaced. Kelleher sounds like he has an agreement elsewhere (according to John O'Shea) a few months back. Georgian lad will replace him. That's it, unless Harvey or Chiesa push hard for an exit I don't see more than that.
Diaz is the other i wouldnt be surprised to see move on if we get a good offer. At 28 and only 2 years left on his deal this summer is the prime time to cash in. I dont expect the club to hand out a big new contract. Without a new deal (which i imagine Diaz would want on increased terms) his value will decrease into the following summer with only a year left and then you are in the zone of the player hanging on to leave on a free. Jota is in a similar situation but with his injury record I dont expect there would be the same tempting offer for him this summer. However the only two forwards I would be certain will still be at the club next season are Salah and Gakpo.
I read an article from one of the LFC fan sites that a deal for Osimhen was nearly completed in January, fee & personal terms agreed with it collapsing minute. And that Nunez was off to Saudi if the deal went through. I wouldn't usually believe anything other than Ornstein, Joyce etc. the usual suspects but the guy seemed to have such specific information you'd wonder what is the benefit to making it up. https://anfieldindex.com/80895/excl...away-from-signing-60m-forward-in-january.html
For my money you could argue nearly every position could do with strengthing, both fullbacks, center half, midfield, striker & LW. Another young RB would be good, someone to share minutes with Conor. He is the future for sure, but can we depend on him to play 45-50 games next season? We look a bit lost without a recognised RB. Left back. Kerkez would be a great signing. CB. Depends if Gomez or Quansah leave, or the end result of Konates contract talks. I get the weird feeling Slot doesn't fancy Konate, don't ask me why though. Midfield we could definitely do with another body the manager trusts to start a PL game, we have enough he doesn't. I could entertain arguments for Jota, Diaz & Nunez moving on. New CF is a must and if there are upgrades on the LW side or someone to take the burden off Salah it would be ideal. That's going to be a tough ask for one summer.
I’d be all over Ollie Watkins if he was available. On the bench a lot lately, better than Jota and reliable injury wise
30 this year, would command a big fee and big wages. With VVD and Salah on massive wages at the age they are, Im not sure Watkins would make sense for us.
If I was raiding Villa for anyone it'd be Rodgers...hard to believe City left him AND Cole Palmer go. I think he's cracking good
