Wait are we including the contract extensions ? If we're not then Id still say 9 if we managed to get Zubimendi
I was thinking that maybe today they would announce new contracts just before new season. Was an inteview on Sky with Mo and the vibe I got was this is last season with the club.
I'll be gutted to lose any of those players go,but Trent has to be the priority. We should remember though that the money we generate from sales isnt going anywhere. There seems to be and has always been a narrative that the owners penny pinch to avoid spending the money we generate, but its not true. It all gets spent one way or another.
Personally think both will resign once the club doesn’t try to be to smart and offer them good contracts . Thinking both want to stay .
If we are looking at the left back position, Kerkez has impressed me a few times now for Bournemouth. Quick, strong, loves defending, tidy on the ball, only 20 and full international for Hungary.
They mentioned him yesterday in commentary and said a lot of big clubs were looking at him over the summer. I'm sure Szoboszlai could have a word
Liverpool are in talks with Aurélien Tchouaméni over a potential move with Real Madrid. The 24 year old is viewed as an ideal profile for Arne Slot’s midfield as they look to recruit a defensive midfielder. €60m in order to sell. [ @sachatavolieri ] Silly season is nearly upon us again
NEW: Sources believe Martin Zubimendi is coming to terms with leaving Real Sociedad, with a move anticipated next summer. Recent conversations suggest this time feels different—both Zubimendi and the club have time to prepare, making his departure more likely. [ @David_Ornstein ]
Liverpool have signed 16-year-old defender Lucas Clarke from Manchester City as part of their push to bolster their youth ranks. Writing on Instagram, Clarke said: “Delighted to have signed for @liverpoolfc can’t wait to get started #ynwa”. The Reds have been on a clear push to hoover up the most promising talent in the country in recent years and have poached Clarke from their rivals. The left-sided centre-back will join Liverpool ’s under-16s squad. Always nice getting one over on that lot
We have a real chance to add a title this year, really hope we add a couple of bodies in January. All the talk seems to be of adding next summer though. Hope we don't let one slip because of a lack of one or two more genuine squad players.
I assume there'll be no signings this January. But some to work on: Left Back - Kerkez, Aït-Nouri, Alphonso Davies Centre Half - Guéhi Right back - Frimpong
Antonee Robinson is the LB I want (Davies is unrealistic I think otherwise would be him). People point to his age but I don't think we should care much about that. Turning 28 at the start of next season is fine, he'll get a 4 year contract and we'll be happy with him for at least 3 seasons. His numbers are good - he's got the 3rd most assists in the league after Mo and Saka with 7 - and he's playing at a much worse team with worse attackers to feed, but he's also got the most interceptions in the league with 37 and the 6th most tackles (53)
