He was onside, azpilicueta foot had him on
Clear dive though
The keeper was in his way, if he had put his foot down he would have fallen over anyway, instead of colliding with the keeper deliberately. It was a pen either way (as long as he was onside).
The offside is very debatable.
Jesus City are 9 up in the cup tonight!
Since we played them they've played two games winning by an aggregate of 16-0!
Against Rotterdam and Burton!
I know it's in the rules they should do it but why do they insist on playing injury time of two minutes in a game like that.
It's only half time, tie still not over
Should be a tense second leg alright
They need an early one!
There's a bit of abuse going around for City for their annihilation of their championship opponents last night, few people in the office saying it's all over Twitter and apparently one of their players said something like "we're disappointed to not get 10, maybe we will next time"
These aren't exactly a non league outfit cobbled together but that remark if true does come across very tasteless but professional sports are ruthless, it would be worse to see them take it easy and start knocking about unnecessarily.
Nigel Clough had no complaints at all not that he could. He mentioned how good City are and also mentioned the gap Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal are trying to bridge from the top three.
When they got to 9 it's a natural reaction to be disappointed not to score 10 in my book. I doubt any players had that attitude at kick off. People love complaining
I seen that interview, it was 2 lads with shit English asked about the crowd wanting them to get 10. They could say nothing other than what they did, the maybe next time remark was about the next time an opportunity like this presents itself, definitely not in relation to the return leg.
BTW Burton are mid table league one, not championship.
I've no problem with City trying to rack up double figures at all. To be fair, if we (or any other team) had a chance to rack up a big number of goals, how many of us would be saying at 5-0 - "nah thats enough, no need to embarrass them"
Several times last season, we were 3 or 4 up and looking like scoring a hatfull more, and eased off the gas, maybe scoring one more in the second half, and it always disappointed me that we didnt just keep going and rack up a silly number. I recall several games that the last 20 minutes were just passing excercises without any real intent to score more goals and made the last quarter of games sterile, and frankly boring to watch after the excitement of what had preceeded it.
Have seen little or none of the cup football in the last week with the exception of our game but just watching the highlights of Spurs and Chelsea here and I cant believe Harry Kane was getting stick for that peno. That's nailed on,hes getting wiped out whether he drags his leg or not.
Well i wasn't being serious that's defo a pen. I do think he was offside though
I didn't even know you said it wasn't a peno mate I meant the stick he was getting in general, not from anybody in particular and not on here.
Looks like the Spy is working for Leeds.
They will all be telling us they're on the way back to the prem. They've been at this stage a few times in the last few years.
So have Liverpool in the prem.
