Could add the USA to that list. I think it was 1986 the last time that they failed to qualify. Outstanding defensive display from the Swedes.

Italy got a bit unlucky getting Spain in the group. They must have been one of the top 2nd seeds. When ya look at the likes of Honduras getting in

0-0 a popular score line the last few nights.. 4 on the bounce in the play offs...

Think the Northern Ireland game was one of the most entertaining 0-0's I've ever seen.

Gomez did very well by all accounts, fair play.

Coutinho came off with about 20 minutes to go with no injuries and Firmino only played about the same.Solanke made his debut as a late sub too.

Good to see Solanke get a debut but wonder when last time a striker made his debut without a goal in top league in England. I’d guess someone like Steve Bull.

Once all of our lads came through injury free, I'm very happy.

Looking forward to Wenger admitting that he's wrong and that his side benefitted from am off side goal..... Then maybe I'm dreaming.

It’s been a hard week for Merthyr Town, who amid a cash-flow crisis have “cut the playing budget significantly” and lost 80% of their senior players. Today they’re fielding a youth team at Chesham United, and they’re losing 9-0 at half-time. Apparently their 15-year-old goalkeeper is having an excellent game.

Really unfair on a youth team to sent them to the slaughter like that.

There the tallest team in any of the top 5 leagues, I think that may even predate them resigning Ibrahimovic.

I've only watched their game against us and their game that they lost a few weeks back (I think it might have been Huddersfield) and their only gameplan was swinging crosses into the box. I'll be honest, it's served them well thus far (and possibly will against the fodder in the league) but the question has always been how would they fare against the top teams and it's a mixed bag so far and I don't think that kind of neanderthal football will stack up against a more progressive team like City and they were unable to even compete against us in the second half but we couldn't break them down.

Arsenal went into yesterday's game on the back of 10 straight home wins in the league.Spurs on the back of one away win in 16 against the top 6 yet you'd of done well to find a pundit tipping an Arsenal win, most went for a Spurs win.
