Just shows how lucky we are when you think about it, I know that the north got it bad there recently but still very mild when you compare it to what Florida / Cuba etc. have gone through.
I like to walk down exposed coastal areas to get a good look at the waves crashing in over the land, no harm in that!
They upgraded that storm in the past hour and now saying that it could hit Cork and Kerry as a hurricane instead of a tropical storm. Mad stuff.

This one looks like it could be bad, we've had plenty of notice to give us time to prepare so hopefully those living across the SW of the country in particular, will be taking the necessary measures.
My job has decided they're happy enough for people to stand on train platforms during a hurricane. Can see a situation where as the day goes on,somebody decides its too dangerous and people who got the train into work are left stranded.
Was thinking the same thing about Dublin Bus? They're remarkly high sided vehicles and very prone to high winds, if they bring people into work in the morning what are they going to do if they hit a massive health and safety risk when the wind picks up in the evening. They should at least be issuing warnings that they cannot guarantee travel after a certain point in the morning so people can decide if they want to take that risk. My job have thankfully decided not to open tomorrow, it's such a rare incident I think it was the right call.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but there are some mad weather dudes on the Internet overnight. Maybe, they'll sleep during the day and miss the actual storm. I suppose if you are into meteorology then this could be a once in a lifetime experience but if Liverpool players could get thus excited over the United game, I'd be a bit happier.
Looks like this could be nasty looking at some of the predictions. Spare a thought for emergency services, in particular the likes of Coast Guard, they are in for some day of it.
