It's vile, but depressingly unsurprising to me.

That's disgusting. And they're only sorry they've been caught.

How many times has that song been sung and how long have people been singing it? She died a decade ago,and they all knew the words. That must be doing the rounds for quite a while which means many of the people showing their "disgust" have heard it before.

Something has to change with the taxi situation in Dublin. Understandably a lot of taxi drivers found different jobs during the pandemic but between there being very few out working on weekends and the way many of the ones that are working take the piss, something needs to happen. I don't like the idea of Uber here, but if the regular taxi service isn't functioning there is going to be plenty of support for it.

Was a couple of hours last weekend trying to get a taxi between the app. Local companies and on the road, nightmare stuff.

Can't find anything concrete online so was hopeful someone here may have knowledge. Clocked speeding twice in London yesterday in my own car? Do the UK send fines to Ireland or how does that work. I know I was clocked as I was blinded by a flashm twice in an hour. Only a couple of KM over (nothing mental) just my car is KM and the roads are miles and confused the life out of me

I used Uber for the first time when I was in Paris and it was the handiest thing ever, everyone seemed to be using it. maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't seem to be a big thing here for whatever reason, hopefully that changes soon.

You can't operate a taxi in Ireland unless you're an officially licenced taxi. I think there is an Uber here but it offers nothing more than every other taxi app.

Coming home from a few matches recently with flights delayed, about 1 in the morning. Some craic trying to get a taxi, queue for 41 was miles long.

Think there is so issue with Uber here, the regulator made it hard for it to become widespread

surely this is a golden opportunity to open it up so, seeing as there are not enough taxis at the moment. once you have an spsv licence you should be able to operate as an Uber driver.

Something needs to be done but I'd like to think it can be sorted without destroying a recognised profession. That's what allowing Ubers model would do.

I walked home from town last week, checked on Google how long the walk is and it said 70 minutes, given I was buckled it probably took me twice that. It was a Wednesday night and I assumed that was the reason, didn't realise it was as bad as it is.
