I remember a place on O'Connell St did burger and chips for a ridiculous low price. £1 or something. Food was really bad even for that price. This was 30 years ago. Would it have been Burgerland?

I'm not sure. Burgerland was where the McDonald's near the bridge is now.... I think. I saw a picture of the inside of it on Twitter a couple of weeks ago,and it was exactly like I remembered it in my head. It even brought back what it smelled like. Love the old pictures of town from the 80's/early 90's. People who only know Temple Bar from what it looks like now would be amazed what it used to look like.

    Nah, I don't think that's it.
The place I was in didn't look that fancy.
Was on the other side of the street too, I think.

    That's the one.
I wasn't sure if it was on the corner of O'Connell and a side street but I distinctly remember the chips being barely cooked and the burger being half as thin as a McDonald's hamburger.
I never strayed from Ann's Hot Bread Shop again.

Jesus that's a blast from the past.

Wimpys mentioned for some reason I always thought was a Wendys pre American franchise.

Some Like It Hot couple doors down from Quinns Drumcondra Road.

I’ve fond memories of going there years ago, when we had our break during our night shift, when working at the airport
Savage kebabs and always gas seeing it in full flight while sober

Some like it Hot… jaysus. Can still smell the taste of kebabs (if that even makes sense). Blast from the past. Jukebox up the back after Quinns Closing. Left some money in that joint from 1999-2003. Good times !!

As a kid from the country, coming to Dublin and walking around the Virgin Mega Store was like a trip to Disney Land.
