I remember a few years ago (it wasn't that long ago) we were all flocking up to newry and Belfast for shopping, some places were going pound for euro, doubt we'll ever see them days again.
Just back from Mallorca, and the rate changed almost every day...but in the other direction. Was 1.38 the day we arrived, then gradually went down to 1.30. I think you've miscalculated a little bit though tbf...if it was almost €140 for 2 it would be nearer to €700 for 5 pair of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It really depends but youll defo pay commission on withdrawals but you wouldnt pay it say in the post office or credit union. But I think their rates are a bit worse than a banks
I have miscalculated, I just checked with Mick Walker (arklowred) there and he informed me of my mistake with the division. You can tell I failed Maths jesus I feel better now!
Its the other way around now, an English stag party coming over here now would find it cheap as chips.
Music to my ears that. My phone number was selected to receive 1 million US dollars. Just need to send them my details. Kerchingggggg!!!
Not at dublin prices! €5+ a pint..but likes off letterkenny here a 4.20'a pint the derry/north ones flocking out here again! I seen a nightclub in letterkenny offerin 1.50 a stg
Also it irks me that I have to spend 70€+ just to see a regular premier league game (i.e not even category a game). Looks like it's gonna get worse for us eurozone fans going to games. With the the new TV rights deal, I think the FA/Premier League should intervene as the imbalance between players wages and ticket prices is going to get worse. Would cost 45000*20*19= £17.1m to reduce the price of every ticket by 20£ so max price would be 39£ for A game. Some of that TV revenue should be set aside for this imo.
hotel i work in is full at the minute has been for last couple of weeks and is for next couple its killing me the rate of sterling if we go over there but keeping me and a good few others in hotel industry in jobs at the minute so not all bad i suppose.
I changed a lot on the boat no probs plenty of time , if your not traveling maybe a mate, Irish Ferriers
Yep we were in Wales for a week from the Monday after the Brexit vote, I reckon we saved a nice few quid with the way the sterling went on the spends. In the week or two before it I got £200 for €251 and it went to €259 a few days later by the time we came home it was down to €242.
Sterling looks like to drop and remain low over the next year or two, my own bet would be that it will get near 0.90 to the Euro ... they are going to be desperate to increase their exports, will be dropping interest rates and printing money etc. so all driving a weaker currency. Should help make the cost of the footie trips a little cheaper, if your coming from the eurozone
Temporary uplift, given the world now knows who their prime minister is, things have started to settle down after the shock of the Brexit vote with nothing significant having happened since (in terms of them issuing the formal request to exit the EU, Scotland calling for independence etc etc). I'm still calling it at 90p to the euro over the next `12-18 months.
