Will need to be on top of their game this Sunday. Squad not used to a run of games in quick succession Should beat them if it's an open game
If they're stupid enough to play a high line and go gungho against us, as Stevie would say...good luck.
Difficult game on paper and its probably one that Spurs have to win if they are to keep alive their slim chances of 4th spot. Sherwood is trying his very best to impress in his brief spell as manager, trying to re-invent himself as some kind of character (which he clearly is not) with his histrionics on the touchline and his rambling press conferences. He will want to try and leave his mark again in Sunday's match as his brief spell in management is running out. That may well play into our hands if they attempt to play gung-ho football in the attempt to win the match. They are another side (together with Arsenal) that can be put into the mentally fragile category and they will always give you chances. They do defend high up the pitch and therefore I think Coutinho has to start this match as he has the ability to play those through balls for our forward players. As long as we don't defend too deep and allow them space behind the midfield as we did at times against Cardiff, I think we can shade this match by the odd goal. There may be a case for starting Lucas and Sakho in this match (in place of Allen & Agger) due to having had 3 matches in a week. However I think Rodgers may well field the same starting line up for 3 consecutive games.
Sterling tore them to pieces at white hart lane. He destroyed knaughton to the extent they had to take him off. I'd start sterling and let him at him again
I'd go back to 433 for this game and let Sterling attack their full backs I hope spurs will attack more than sunderland did and this will allow us to press high and hit them on the counter
I dont think we'll give them the same hiding we gave them at the lane, but we should still beat them by a couple of goals, we need to start keeping clean sheets at home aswell, this title could come down to clean sheets yet.
This is the fixture for me that I am most nervous about. Never like playing Spurs in recent years. While I think that we should be clear favorites as Spurs haven't been the same this year, I still fear someone like Adebayor against Skrtel and Agger. For that reason I'd start Sakho instead of Agger. In midfield I think Eriksen is by far their best player so I'd like to see Lucas and Gerrard together keeping him quiet more than someone like Allen. Other than that I don't see many threats from this Spurs team. I'd leave Couthino in the team too after last night's performance. Even though I'm a little nervous about this one I think we'll win it with Suarez and Sturridge in form yet again.
very true sterling will be the difference powering forward lots of pace will kill spurs an early goal and no problem for the win suarez hattrick will do nicely
I'd revert back to 433 , thought we would have v Sunderland . Thought Henderson started to look very tired with this diamond formation , going to be a hard game but spurs defence and our attack gives us a lot of confidence , nigglin worry is our defence repating individual errors again .
Sterling has to start in this, will put doubts in the heads of the Spurs defence. They are already worrying about the SAS, another bit of psychological pressure to go along with it after the game at WHL is to our advantage
Would like to see Sterling start myself. I was reading the interview he done with the BBC about his World Cup ambitions, so I think his hunger to get on that plane in June, let alone to win the league with us, can only benefit the team if he is playing. Attack from the start like the Everton and Gooner games and we should be fine.
