I think that Southampton keeper was the worst ball distribution I have seen this season Great to get the win and rest players. Hope Gomez will be ok.
If that game was on Thursday then we could have put double digits past them. I've felt since the draw at City we would fall short but that Mahrez peno miss and that absolute fluke from Joel has me thinking just maybe.
What a squad. Millie with an unbelievable ball Saturday that should have decided the FA cup. Another sensational one tonight wins the corner we get the winner from. What a goal Taki, Bobby brilliant. There were players who miss out on squads playing tonight who were outstanding. Tsimi and Konate brilliant under pressure. Never in my life did I think we'd have a team (and now a squad) like this.
Jaysus it is some time to be a red, didn't think we would take it to the last day. Imagine playing Klopp in poker, must be something else, he gave our second string team, absolute belief they could win tonight. We can still dream after that.
City missing Walker, Diaz and Stones. We couldn't have asked for a better manager to play against City for them to win the league. Stevie, Coutinho, Ings and boyhood Liverpool fan Mings in opposition. Only 3 possible results in City game and two of them would most probably win us the league. We have no hope though right ...........
61 games in 2 trophies in the cabinet 2 games to win 2 more The fact that Klopp managed to give most of the 1st team 7 days off between games, and then they will have 5 off before the last one, and STILL rev'ed up that team tonight to go out and perform like they are playing week in week out is just spectacular. Been supporting the Reds for well over 40 years, and I cant remember as good a time to be a fan as this.
There's a lot of lads who've been stating the obvious(including me) that Konate is going to be a great player. Think it's well past time we just start saying Konate is a great player because if you make a list of CB's capable of putting in the type of performances he has been all season, it will be a very short one.
Jamie Redknapp was talking about just getting another Salah but you can't get another Virgil. This was after watching Konate play like Virgil. If he add 50 yard switches to his game he will be the best CB on the planet in 3 years.
Lads, I'm exhausted. Hugely important game every few days, need to win every one of them to stay in a competition, finding the right balance in the starting 11, majority of time just doing what's needed. It takes huge mental strength to keep doing it every game, losing only 2 meaningful games all season. Doing all that as well against a against a state funded oil club. I'm enjoying the ride immensely but also looking forward to being able to relax come May 29th so just imagine how the players and management feel!
One thing that is noticeable when Van Dijk,Thiago and Trent dont play is how valuable that cross field ball is to our play. We've other players who can float balls from one side to another but that gives teams the opportunity to shift across. Even when we're working the ball across the pitch, the same punch on the pass to the widest player just isn't there. The split second you lose from it makes it a bit easier for the defenders.
Brilliant stuff. Listened to it on Radio 5 Live as I paced around the kitchen. Two more games, two more wins, two more trophies for the quadruple.
What a gang of lads these are, that was an impressive performance last night. Given ourselves a chance and asked the question can Man City go win it, because we will be there if they mess it up no doubt about it.
If we win our last game, we will have enough points to have won the league in 24 of the previous Premier League seasons (one on goal difference) but such is life. Hopefully Stevie G, Coutinho, Ings and boyhood Liverpool fan Mings can pull off a shock!
Thought Carra should have wound his neck in last night on Salah's contract. Basically telling the best striker in Europe the grass isn't always greener is like laying down a challenge to someone so head strong, focused and who incidentally is elite level world class. Comparing Gini, Emre Can and even Coutinho is just foolish. Of course sky lapping it up and spreading it all over the place. I get his point but I just think quotable views like this don't help matters.
