I just had a look at the Serie A table and Ac Milan are struggling to get into the champions league next year, they are in 5th four points behind Fiorentina who are in 4th.I am not huge into Italian football but I will be keeping an eye on this.

How the mighty have fallen, like Bayern fighting it out in the UEFA cup

Italian football is shocking, doesnt seem to be any channel interested in showing it anymore either

That said Pato looks a good player

That's a big improvement on where they were at one stage.

italian football is ruined. Massive hooligan problems..corruption. The money they had in the mid 90's has all been squandered and its gotten them into a bad position.

Very true - I remember seeing down stranded in 12th spot around December. There are 6 games remaining so Milan really need to get the finger out fairly lively! Trouble is, they start away to Juventus on Saturday night, and still have a Milan derby to play - hard to see them qualifying for the European Cup next season.

Just a blip. Bayern will be back in the CL next season, probably as Bundesliga Champions.

Marseille are in 4th spot in Ligue 1 at the moment, having just completed the league double over Lyon. Just 3 points off a CLQ spot now, and if the club had started the season better, might have competed with Lyon for the league. Meanwhile PSG and Paul Le Guen of Rangers fame, are facing relegation to Ligue 2.

last time I looked a few weeks back they were hanging around 8th.

They went something like 3 months with only 1 win at home early in the season. Playing really bad

Milans were in the bottom half before christmas and then after Januwary Pato could play (he couldnt play prior to christmas cos he was only 17! - some rule for foreign players in Italy I think)

Anyway form has picked up alot since then but they are a shadow of the team they used to be. Not sure if Shev and Ronnie are the answer for them

In relation to Bayern I know it was just a blip but how strange has it been to seem them in the UEFA cup

From memory, they were in a similiar position last season (with match fixing deduction of points ) but still managed to pip Fiorentina in the closing weeks of the season. I wouldn't back against them doing it again especially as Fiorentina are still in the Uefa Cup.

It's been even stranger to see Juventus out of Europe altogether. :)Never liked that club ever since we lost the '85 final.

Bayern slipped off the pace last year, similiar to how LFC slipped off the pace in '80/'81. With Klose, Toni, Ribery and co on board this year, there has been no repeat. 7 points clear with 7 games to go. Whether Marseille make the CLQ's or not is more difficult to say, with crucial games at Monaco, and home to 2nd place Bordeaux to come.

We also scraped into the CL semi finals by 7 minutes. I didn't feel sorry for Arsenal.

Getafe have had their fun this year. In Spain, they won in the Bernabeu, they got a draw in the Nou Camp, and they're in the Spanish Cup Final. In Europe, they got a draw in Munich in the last minute, and beat Benfica and Spurs along the way. Time for someone else to have a go.

Bayern will probably win it and the league too, but then again it is expected, when you have the resources and the boss in place to do so.

Milan lost away to Juventus last night, 3-2. They are in big trouble now with regard to qualifying for the European Cup. Ronaldinho could find himself starring on the UEFA Cup stage next season!

Looks like Inter have it now.
    2 up.
Milan not lookin like theyll make it to CL with Fiorentina leading.
Will affect their management/player recruition a bit if they have no CL football.
