Some of the stuff he does is unreal. His chest pass to Kane the other week was sublime. We did really well getting Sterling and Ibe but given this lad was keen to come and that his manager seemed keen for him to come here I'm amazed we messed it up.

Imo the club needs to be doing more to convince the best young players and their families that they should be at Liverpool. The best local players over the last 10-15 years have gone to Everton. I know they probably came from Blue households but we've convinced players and families before that they are better off at Liverpool.

IMO this is one of the main areas we've failed over the past few years, i accept other than Alli there very few brillant young players out there but at the same time we're not exactly setting the world alite either attracting them. Ya see all the time how the big lights of London is a major attraction for me thats aload of bull its the big money that attracts them, we need to start acting like a big club in all areas this includes handing out the big wages to the best players. As it stands the liverpool of old where some of the most promising young players in the country used come from us, is fading away fast we need to stop this before we become a thing of the past.

Perhaps it's time we hired a few of the scouts from Southampton and Leicester.

If it saves us having to just wait for Southampton to sign the players, add £20 million to their price and then sell them to us it will be a fantastic move and we can hopefully save a few quid by sacking all of our scouts that must live in Southampton, probably 5 minutes from St Marys.

    Interesting comments by Mauricio Pochettino

“Do you know how many players in football are close to signing for many clubs? It’s only one comment from some manager. Dele Alli now is here.
“We were close at Espanyol to signing Lionel Messi – a centimetre. Unbelievable but this was true.
“Messi was 17, playing for U18s and very close to signing for Espanyol. It was close but it never happened.
“In football it’s always ‘if, if, if’ but in football it’s about reality. It’s not about maybe what could have happened.”

Id agree Lionel, very interesting.I bet Barca are delighted they didn't let Messi play for anybody else before he broke through properly. Also interesting that 9 days after Rodgers made those comments, not one media outlet has managed to get one comment from anybody involved contradicting anything he said.We missed out here,it happens but going the extra yard to get the deal across the line might have saved us a lot of money in the long run.On the other side theres probably plenty of occsssions where we wished we hadn't gone the extra yard or were glad we didn't.

Much depends on how they are assessed....

Are they assessed in terms of getting the wage bill down, in percetage terms of overall (club) revenue ? ... or are they assessed in terms of players they have recommended and the club has actually signed, who have gone on to become a great success at LFC ? ..Very different measures, in fairness, depending on how you measure it, they have done either vey well or very badly...

They'll never prove their wages I'm afraid. but saying that young Grulic looks like a tasty player for £5 million so I'll tale that over overspending on average tripe like we have done in windows past

Next step for the club should be getting rid of the likes of ballotelli to China

Seems they like to over pay ;)
