Bruce is gone from Newcastle. I wonder who gets the job?
I'm glad they put Bruce out of his misery. He's not a very good manager and tbe fans are entitled to think he's not up to the job, but he doesn't deserve the type of humiliation being inflicted on him by them and the new owners. Palace next, and those fans hate him more than Newcastle's. Apparently Ashley looked after him though, made sure they'd have to give him a big pay off.
Perfect timing now for Ole to get the bullet on Sunday after a humiliation at the hands of their dearest rivals and then Bruce to get a nice 5 year contract and the whole cycle to start again. Afterall Bruce is a man that gets the club etc. etc.
You’d need to be nuts to take that Newcastle job as you are working with the same lot he had and also you are going to get the bullet shortly too.
You'd get a few million euro in your back pocket for taking that job though
If they wait 2 weeks the Watford manager will be available. Claudio will do a job there .
Wonder would they try and pry Rodgers? Conte is available also
They have apparently approached Rodgers but he is holding out for the Citeh job? Paulo Fonseca is the latest to be linked to the job
Koeman gone.. Be a good manager for utd
I hope Barca get Conte in the door quickly
Good shout that. Although looks like another x player
It’s looking like it’ll be xavi for the Barca job
xavi to become barca's ole, time will tell?
I could be wrong of course but if I was an ex ayer with ambitions of having a legacy as manager of Barca I'd stay a million miles away from that club right now. Particularly so eobe with very little experience, club is in free fall.
The other side of that coin is if you had a genuine love for the club and thought you could help them out of the mess, how could you not step up if the call came? If it is Xavi, there could be a very short window of opportunity for him to become the manager there. His reputation as a coach won't improve where he is at the moment,if anything the longer he stays there the less relevant he becomes in the football world. I don't think any other big clubs will have interest in him at this point so if he doesn't take it now, he'll have to go to a smaller European club and do well for a few years for it to come up again, and there's no guarantees of either of those things happening. Could easily be a case of now or never.
They are also at rock-bottom so the only way is up. Even at their lowest point they are probably only 3 or 4 players away from a really good side, Pedri and Gabi look really good from what I've seen of them for Spain, Fati is highly rated and they have De Jong and Ter Stegan who are top players. There are also loads of really good players coming up on freebies, Chelsea's centre defence and Goretzka could be added for free, that would instantly add the solidness they have lacked. They get Salah the following year and suddenly they are contenders again. It's all pie in the sky stuff but the route back isn't that far off, if they had of let Messi go to City last year they would nearly be there already.
not quite at rock bottom yet, if they don't get out of their CL group that'll be bad but not finishing in the top 4 in the league will be the lowest point.
I am quite enjoying the shit show at Barcelona. Maybe I am a sick person but I hope it gets a lot worse.
Me too and hopefully Madrid follow.
My intense dislike of Real far exceeds that for Barcelona. Real were state funded and financially doped by first Royalty and then Franco several decades before we became acquainted with Russian oligarchs and oil money. You talk about Citeh trying to buy the champions league, look at Real winning 5 in a row between 56-60.
