Good to say Troy get that move.
Article on BBC there that Mark Sykes is looking to switch from NI to ROI
Is there no nations league on sky sports at all anymore. Ireland Finland this day week not showing up on my TV guide on any of rte virgin media or sky please tell me it's on bt at least? I don't have bt but the option of booking a table for it is better than seeing on an Internet stream or not at all
Both games on rte2 according to the site I just checked.
I'm surprised these international games are taking place. With so many players going to many different locations and then all returning to the one place.
Goes against all weve been told in the media.
Looking forward to seeing how Stephen Kenny sets us up and hoping we go out with a philosophy of at least trying to play ball in the proper manner.
Trappatoni and O’Neill got us to the Euros and some big days, Mick did his best, however the football in general has been hard to watch at times. Too much reliance on older players and not trusting younger players. Hopefully this batch under Kenny will force him to play them.
Thought we were better in recent times under Mick. I used to go to every Ireland game I could get to before Trapp but after about two games under him I found myself getting angry and frustrated so couldn't go, even worse under O'Neill. I started going again with Mick and enjoying it again. I don't expect us to win games but I at least expect every player that puts on an Ireland jersey to give their all and to be honest 95% of the time the players do regardless of the manager. After that you want to see them give a go and then so be it but to just park the bus and play football that is even out if date for your local league is depressing.
Totally agree. Trapp had some balls on him to convince everyone that the ONLY way we could play was the shit he served up. Had it so that anyone who said anything remotely different was suggesting that we were Barcelona. I think Mick wanted to play a bit of ball and showed to the previous two dinosaurs that it wasn't a straight choice between success and watching an actual game of football. I have an open mind with Kenny and fully prepared to give him a chance. Did find it a bit tight to only name 6 defenders in the squad but I'm sure he has a plan.
It seems to me (I haven't checked so just anecdotally) there the last year or two there has been a good rise in the number of Irish lads playing in the PL. A few years back it was bad with only a handful.
I agree. We can nearly field a team of PL players now. And with Kenny coming in, there could (should?) be exciting times ahead.
