Was a while on Newstalk that I went right off those lads, but when they started up their own pod, thought it got back on track and I am a subsriber. Ken does fancy himself as a bit of comedian though. Not sure If I am the only one who thinks his Fairview slot is terrible.
Second Captains 5 years on the go this week. Great interview with Vincent Browne. He has mad theories but I love listening to him. I am not into politics really but used to regularly watch his show at nite time to see him take into some of the gangsters running the country
Great discussion on off the ball today with a few of the Irish jornos who have travelled to the last few world cups, someone tweeted in saying they were on a bus to Dublin when Robbie Keane equalised against Germany in 02 and the driver got out and started doing push ups on the road. 45 mins in from the start of the show. https://www.newstalk.com/listen_back/10/45401/09th_June_2018_-_Off_The_Ball_Part_1/
West Cork - Its only available on Audible but it is brilliant. Chronicles the murder of Sophie Du Plantier outside of Bandon in the 90s.
West Cork is brilliant Something along the same lines is The Teachers Pet. Mate put me onto it this week. About a former Aussie rugby star who allegedly killed his wife over 30 years ago to move his student from school in with him. It's pretty mad stuff
Listened to the ESPN 30 for 30 podcast about The Year Of The Scab. A few of the players who scabbed are on it and it's an interesting listen.Everybody to their own but even if it was my biggest dream,it would mean nothing to me in those circumstances.
Teachers Pet is a very good. I am fully caught up (new episodes released weekly) and the case is massive in the media over there due to the podcast.
Listened to 2 of these over the last 2 days, one with tubes off soccer am and one with a lad who was the most wanted man in Britain at one time, both very good. www.thelegitpodcast.libsyn.com The lad that does the podcast has a very good book out that I read recently. Also listened to Joe Rogan's interview with Mike tyson, well worth a listen.
Mentioned it a few times but Business of Sports with Andrew Brant is a great pod. One last week about history of Super Bowl. The fella who took it over in early 80s and turned it into An event that gets more viewers than Olimpics. He basically invented corporate hospitality, mass merchandising and various other themes that have only come into football in last 10/15 years. Also got a few greats ones on future of sports tv
Heading down to Tralee early doors tomorrow so I’m not in the car when the reds are on. Can anyone recommend a break your hole laughing podcast to make the drive a little less painful?
It's definitely not a laugh a minute, but West Cork is a riveting listen on audible. I listened to it on the trip to Killarney last year and it definitely made the journey easier
