Was absolutely unplayable for periods today. Looked to me that he just decided to show how gifted he is today and was on a different level to even Salah on pure natural ability. I'd pay to watch that every week

I hope he'll go from the strength to strength from here on.

Has to be a flippin nightmare for opposition teams looking at our line up and wondering which one of them is going to decide he's Pele today. We genuinely have 3 players who can go win a game on their own when they are on. Coutinho today, Salah for the last few weeks and Mane can (and has) do it too. Bobby's come back to form lately too. Great stuff all round.

Yeah he was playing a different game to Brighton and most of our lads as well to be fair today. He was showing why he's £150m today ability wise. Others can do it with raw pace but not many in the world can toy with the opposition like that with pure ball manipulation

Thought the free kick was clever and took balls

Klopp saying the analyst at the club deserves the credit ??

I guess that they study each team and then provide a summary of what to expect based on past performances - in this instance, perhaps they had identified a trend for the wall jumping when free kicks are taken.

    Yup fantastic

Hopefully those who wanted to see the back of him after he asked for the move to Barca now appreciate that he's still committed to us when he plays for us etc.

I don't know if it's so much dour, more that he's quiet or even possibly a tad shy and reserved so he's just quiet, keeps the head down, doesn't make a lot of noise etc.

Exception to the rule mate ;) :D

.... and even during that period, he didn't go mouthing off to the journos etc. unlike some other players who have tried to force a move. In the time he's been with us, how often has he done interviews of any sort ? ... I don't think he's done much more than say thank you and pose wit his thumb up for the odd photo tbh :)

I really can't see him going anywhere in January, now that we all know we'll have CL football to look forward to, early next year .... no one would benefit from that move imho. Next summer is a far bigger concern for me tbh.

I've just polluted the Keita thread with this but do people have any expectation that he might still be here at the end of next summer? I'd kind of just accepted that our best hope was that we'd hang onto him through January and replace in the summer (not possible with like for like unfortunately).

    In honesty Ed,

I suspect that there was a "gentleman's agreement" done behind closed doors with Coutinho, that he could go to Barca this winter if we fell out of the CL before Christmas, otherwise next summer. Obviously, that's subject to a fee being agreed, but I take that as a given.

Having said that, the club surprised me by not selling him last summer tbh, because at one point I was absolutely convinced that he was gone.

We are definitely playing well at the moment and the attacking players in particular, so I imagine he must be enjoying his footie, and with his mates Firmino and Mourinho to hang around with, it's not going to be as easy for him to walk.

If we pull a big rabbit out of the hat and finish better than we did last season, along with showing some real signs of sincerity with regards to bringing more talent in both this winter and also in the early part of next summer's window, then we might convince him that it's worth sticking around for another season. But there's a few big "ifs and buts" in all of that.... and each year that he stays, it's a year less off the peak of his career from here on in so he'd need to be fairly confident that he can win stuff by sticking around.
