So our scouts that have selected this lad and have us linked with him for over year are that far wrong that after 3:games he is shit.
Totally agree, but most of the guys out there are taking an age to release passes & even when they do the pass is that slow it looks like its rolling in muck ffs
Commented on this in the Leipzig thread. I'll watch out for it but I think his body shape is OK it's down to decision making that is delaying his passes. Defo slow to release, whatever the reason
I see it as this guy coming highly recommended by ex colleagues of the boss rather than identified by our scouts. We were desperate and still only took on loan at the last minute, that suggests huge doubts and a leap of faith rather than any huge confidence. He's not going to get any quicker or taller so if he can't pass it was has he got? I'm sure there is more aggression in him which will make him better but not to the level required.
Doesn't have an obvious standout quality so far anyway. Teammates are less reluctant to pass to him than Philips and Williams but that's a low bar
I'll call it an early analysis rather than a final judgement. I can be won around by him he'll be delighted to know
In fairness this isn't me judging him after 3 games. This is confirmation bias at play, I judged him after 2.
Not ruling this out. Him being 20 is one of his main strengths plus I had heard of him so those 2 together give me hope
We might have to take Kabak. Any CB we want is going to want double his wages as danger money. There's less injuries in gang jump ins than there is to our centre halves.
The latest flavour of the month is going to be less likely to join with no champs league, we could be left with him as one of our better options
I can only say what I've seen of him so far and there is nothing to say he's a top player now. Hopefully with some work he can be one but we could have done with a finished article badly
Being able to read the game, positioning, timing, can make up for lack of other qualities as a defender. And these can come with more experience. At his age I would've been shocked if he slotted in at CB without any issues. He's not even got a regular CB partnering and guiding him. Plenty of time for him to improve but at the moment he's a stopgap in every respect.
I get that but he's not our player. He's on loan, we don't need another doer upper, we need a ready made CB.
Tough start for the lad. Would be interested to see how he would get on with VVD to help him through games instead of being thrown in completely at the deep end. Interesting to see Philips ahead of Davies in pecking order.
