V Villa owner's family (Nassef Sawiris) appear to have repatriated all their wealth to Saudi and Abu Dhabi in the last 12 months. I would imagine they are confident they can navigate through PSR with sales to Saudi as they need. I wouldnt be surprised if someone like Lucas Digne (fringe player with high profile) goes for silly money in the summer.
I can hardly complain, I spent years doing the same thing as Exeter manager in Championship Manager, a later version of the game made it much more difficult to move huge sums of money around the leagues for players that were clearly not worth that kind of money, it was like an early model of FFP but without the crafty Saudi's finding intricate ways around it.
Ah yes the old "add a second manager" ploy on FM. I havent played it in donkeys years but used to love adding the 2nd manager. Join Utd (added bonus of Fergie getting the sack) and use them to buy no talents from you for obscene amounts of money. They eventually added a "fix" where the board of the 2nd club would cancel transfers they thought were bad deals. To retaliate you would then use manager 2 to fine and drop first team players until they became unhappy and demanded a transfer. Starting to think a lot of actual club owners learned the ropes from football manager
Chelsea are playing brutal at the moment. Top 5 finish, nevermind top 4, in serious trouble now Another year without CL football. I wonder will Palmer look to leave
Cunha signs for United after they meet the 62.5 million release clause. 5 months ago he was heading for a free transfer in the summer It was rumoured in Jan he was heading to United on a free in the summer but they have now paid 62.5m for him. Seems mad
I think he's very good and is one of their more logical looking signings. Not sure he passes the 'no dickheads' policy but I see this being a hit rather than miss
Mbuemo only wants to join Utd over Arsenal and Newcastle. Absolutely mental that. A fine player. Career suicide.
They still have serious pull even though they are in the gutter. I think for some of these lads they go straight into the first XI and immediately become the best player. They join a Champions League team and they would like be squad players. See Mbuemo as Trossard level player. Very good player in the right system however don’t think he will transform a side.
Im loving the "if he doesn't want us,we don't want him" shouts from Man U,Newcastle and Arsenal fans, every time a player chooses a different club. What, you don't want a player who's already told you he doesn't want to sign for you? Ok
I rate Mbuemo highly but he's a weird signing. He plays in the only position in that squad that doesn't need a serious upgrade. Unless he's planning on selling Diallo or playing Mbuemo somewhere else, it makes no sense.
Well, it'll all depend if they get enough money from selling other players. Bruno just rejected Saudis, which means that they'll have to sell a lot of players if they want to land Mbuemo and any new signings. They are still hoping for Gyokeresh, but he's going to Arsenal apparently.
Seen a good bit of him over the years. Looks more a winger than a fullback. City though haven’t really had a proper left back for years. They were rotating between Garvidol and O Reilly so it’s defo an upgrade for them
Not being biased but I think we're getting the better deal with Kirkez. Even before we were linked with both and it was always Kirkez number one for me
Agreed...both players along with Robinson probably had the best seasons at LB but Kerkez is 3 years younger and I am liking the mad Hungarian vibe. Having Szob already, will help. Plus I'm guessing Ait-Nouri will be off to the ANC for.a spell as well
Ait Nouri is the exact type of player Pep will set about changing from day one. He'll cut out all his good parts and have him training with Jack Grealish within 6 months.
Arsenal are closing in on deal to sign Kepa from Chelsea, agreement almost done with the player. Long term deal in place and Kepa ready to be backup for Raya. £5m release clause to be activated soon, as Just the £68m loss on him reports.
