Some decent players starting to change hands .... I was a bit surprised at how long a contract Juve have given Christian, but I suppose they just decided they were paying whatever it took to make a statement of their intent. I'm expecting Juve to do well this season, between their new signings and what they have already. Hope we've a couple more quality additions coming in.
Surely a good world cup would involve scoring a goal or 2? Or at least scoring an international goal at some stage since the last world cup?
Pep really worked his magic on him last season. Taking up positions and timing his runs made him a very effective player for city. World cup however showed him up for where he is though as a footballer imo. Dog shit in the box, terrible decision making on the ball, can't beat a man and can't cross. Pep will wave his wand again but I think they could buy in better and possibly have in Mahrez.
For a 48 year old, apparently erudite and balanced, man, I hold a very irrational dislike of Sterling!!* * Add Evra to that also.
Which makes him unusual for an Everton signing I kept an eye on him towards the end of last season when I saw a few reports linking him with Liverpool and he is a good player, if a bit raw. Looks like the reports were right about the city if not the club
I think we've actually reached the stage now where we probably just shouldn't bother trying to figure our what a player is worth, or if a club has paid too much (well, unless it's a season or two later and the player has been sh1te). Richarlison is a decent player, interesting that he's happy to go to Everton as they are not a hell of a lot bigger than his existing club ... that said, I suppose Liverpool is starting to turn into Little Brazil with the various Brazilian players there these days, so that might have played it's part.
I was looking at an Everton fans tweets this morning and he was saying the Richarlison fee seems to include compensation for Everton trying to sign Marco Silva as manager last season. Apparently the complaint by Watford will be quietly dropped in the near future. I think there is a good bit of truth in that reasoning.
In 2 minds, he's a great defender who would be fantastic for them, or he's an average defender who excelled at the WC.
You'd want to be given some guarantees(or wages) at Utd, going by the record books, this would be Mourinhos last season. He has a habit of moving on after 3 seasons. Your certainly not joining to play for him or buy into his plan.
