Hot off the press.
Noel would be the more talented brother but liam is the better singer.
Noel is working on his own album at the moment any way.Id day they will take a break for a few years any way and will make a come back in a few years with a new album and tour.
suprised it hasnt come sooner as the two boys just cant see eye to eye at all..Sad to see though.
looking forward to his debut solo album already...
Good for him...he was left to pick up the pieces many times
sad news love oasis.having said that id rate a lot of noels singing above liams anyway.i hope he goes solo
wont be shedding any tears........................last few albums have been garbage, nothing new or original at all.same sound.maybe Noel will come up with something new now as they've been stale for years.
I have every single and album by Oasis and I've seen them about 12 times and I can tell you these guys should have finished up a long time ago, Liam's voice is fcuked and he can't reach any of the high notes anymore, they've never evolved into a new sound like all great bands do, Great frontman and 1 of the best and 1 of the best songwriters of our time but time they finished.. feel sorry for anyone that bought tickets for their gigs.
songs like round are way, don't look back in anger, half the world away, rocking chair and this wouldn't have been sang any better by liam..
this makes me sad
Got into Oasis when they first arrived on the music scene, Definitely Maybe is up there with the greatest debut albums of all time in my humble opinion, and a solid 2nd album kept me keen.
They never evolved, as mentioned above, and I lost interest in them very quickly after Morning Glory..
They released some good tunes now and then, but they were in the same mould as always.
Liam had a fresh voice when he started, no-one really sounded like him, but that got stale after a while as well.
Noels voice, imo, was nowhere near the standards of Liams, nowhere near the same impact, but it depends on what attracted you to Oasis in the first place, I loved their balls out rock approach, and Noel and his songs took away from that.
As a band, they were very good and did sound original..
But they were anything BUT original when it came to song writing.
Its well documented that Noel and Liam loved the Beatles and the Stone Roses, and it can be heard in most of their songs, as alot of 'em are blatant rip-offs, rehashed or otherwise.
Oasis, as far as bands go dont come anywhere near the Beatles or the Roses for me anyway when it comes to longevity and song writing.
In saying all that, I did like them when they first aired on our radios and TV's, but the novelty wore off after 2 albums.
They were very good at Slane, but I wont lose any sleep over Noel leaving and/or the band breaking up.
I dont give a fcuk what any body says best band ever!!!!!!!
As an avid fan im sad at this news but id love to see noel do something on his own maybe an acoustic album, i used to love it in the early days when noel would pull out the acoustic and the rest of the band would just leave him at it, i remember in vicar st a few years ago when kelly jones and noel played acoustic it was fcukin brilliant, love the band i grew up with them but liam is a talentless twat his voice went to fcuk after 96 and knebworth when he went mental on the funny stuff
Hope he does not look back in anger
this gig m8
There not the best band Paddy!!!!!!!!!!!
hopefully he goes on to write and perform more stuff like this, great songwriter, liams voice has gone in the last few years.
definitely maybe - greatest debut album ever bar none
15 years today it out phil m8,amazin
Sad to see them end. Slept outside HMV years ago for tickets for The Point. Way past their sell by date now. Had 1 amazing album, 1 very good and the rest iffy to say the least.
The Stone Roses debut album must be the best ever.
