Seriously? Katie Taylor represents the Republic of Ireland, there's no grey area there so I'm not sure what your angle.

I'd say ANB is played out of some procedural correctness for games in the country, I wouldn't mind if it was dropped for the rugby.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Ireland played a home game in Ravenhill, I'm not sure it's ever happened and that might we'll be anthem related which would be disappointing.

I think the GUI and the amateur boxing association use ANB while the hockey, cricket and rugby boards use Irelands Call. Wouldn't have any problem with it myself.
Personally I can't stand either of them!!

Gave up watching rugby about 15 years ago and I've no idea what it's all about myself.
2 different countries but we have a unified sports team?
    Fuckoff.
You're either one or the other.
Can't have separate teams I suppose as the North would be another whipping boy in the 7 nations. More sporting (better business) to have a unified team.
They can play what they like before a match as it's not a national team.

Funny I'd take the opposite view with regards to a united sports team, be it for rugby or any other sport .....

    - helps bring Irish people together, be it the sports participants, or supporters
    - helps improve our chances as a nation of winning, with a bigger talent pool to draw from

I think it's a good thing and wish we had it for every sport.

Love the rugby myself but the peoples game thing is utter bollix. One of our twins started playing it this year with Balbriggan, and they play around North Leinster, Cavan and Dublin. The circuit seems to be themselves, Skerries, Boyne (Drogheda) Clondalkin, Dundalk, Carlingford, North Meath, Virginia, Ratoath. That's hardly the peoples game if that's all the teams in the area covered putting teams out at underage. As well as that you end up in situations where some of the bigger clubs need two clubs to come to them so all their kids get a game. It's still firmly well behind GAA and football for numbers. I think where it's getting popular is the day out at the professional games. You go to the RDS and it's dated and needs updating badly but there's plenty of food and drink counters that you could get in well ahead of it and make a day out of it. I'd say there's little or nothing outside of Croke Park and Aviva has the level of stuff on offer like that in other sports in Ireland.

I'd put no pass on Francis, he seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder because he missed out on the earnings really taking off when he played. He's just a pot stirrer that likes the sound of his own voice.

If an athlete from the north wants to declare for the Republic, then fair enough but each nation should have it's own team.
Do you think ANB should be played before matches involving a team representing 2 nations?

It depends on what you think a "nation" is?

Padraig Pearse was an ego driven romantacist who would of rathered a failed rebellion with him at the forefront than a successful one without him.

You are buying your cans in the right place but definitely having your pints in the wrong one!

I won't disagree on Dominos, you're right but there's situations when it's just what the doctor ordered, usually hungover.

Ryanair is not a quality company, this is not my opinion, it just isn't. They are the cheapest airline to travel with on most occasions and have made air travel a huge amount cheaper for the island of Ireland but a quality company they are not.

    Guinness: You're wrong.
