Not sure if the Kieta injury was a factor in the tactical battle. Could not get on the ball at all. So many aimless balls. Big worry for me is that the bulk of that team have been through the toughest game possible ahead of the biggest game of the season on Sunday.
pure sickener, but we hardly had a shot on target...the worst I've seen them in a long time, but a game every 3 days PLUS travel seems to have taken it's toll....can't understand why the shaq didn't get a run out
Got what they deserved. Performances this season are starting to worry me, West Ham aside we've been average at best. Need a win on Sunday or big two weeks will have turned into a fairly shit two.
Normally enjoy watching us so much. That was muck. Would have to think Clyne might be a better option than Trent in some of these away games when we're trying to keep it tight
Everything was shit tonight. PSG won't fancy playing at this place. Worst 90 mins I can remember from us in a long time. Sunday's game is massive as if it wasn't already. We go again
I reckon that game might well have been needed though, a wake up call to any players who might have been forgetting that they have won nothing yet. Could benefit us in our performace against City, the lads will certainly have no complacency after this game.
Been awhile since I've seen us play that bad. Midfield was awful and Mane was the only decent one up top. I hope Salah turns up on Sunday because he hasn't so far this season. We move on and hope this was a wake up call.
Once Keita went off and Henderson replaced Gini at the base of midfield we stop passing. Gini not at the base is pointless and Henderson is just not comfortable enough on the ball to take control of matches like that. We never do anything easy so we shouldn't be surprised that it goes to match day 6.
I'd be pretty sure it wasn't. Hes been arguably our most consistent midfielder this season but you can always tell when Wijnaldum is on the way to having one of those anonymous away nights. He's slow to give passing angles and chooses the easy option over the right one every time he has to make the choice. We'd have suffered worse with him at the base of the midfield tonight and that's without factoring in how poor Keita was before he got injured.Shaqiri or Sturridge on earlier was how I think we should of went about it.They've both different ways of doing it but the ball sticks when you hit them with it and the lack of respite our front 3 gave us was a big factor. On a sidenote,I feel sorry for TAA,we left him badly exposed and 2 things I noticed. He kept making himself available and trying to punch and attempt his passes which shows big balls for a 19 year old on a night like that(ask Wijnaldum). And Robertson mistakes although less noticeable, led to more chances for them than Trents. Twice in 2 games now he's allowed one on ones with balls inside him and he didn't cover himself in any glory for the goal either.
