Last year was poor enough. get the call rolling for 2020 with this one. Going to cinema to see it over next few days
I know it's not a true indicator but trailer looks like a pile of shite, Hugh Grant character looks ridiculous
Not a 2020 movie (think it was actually 2016) but only saw it over the weekend and didn't know where to post this. Hunt for the Wilderpeople - by Taika Watiti who did What we do in the Shadows and Thor Ragnarok. I'd say it flew under the radar a bit although it made a lot of top ten lists for that year. Funny, quirky and Sam Neill is very good in it, great chemistry with the kid, think he was the same guy in Deadpool 2.
Just watched Dark Waters. Jaysus it’s scary what big business are getting away with. Truly shocking Nearly every human contaminated with the chemical C-8.
1917 a film you have to watch in cinema. Not the same on small screen. thought it was very good but not as good as Hacksaw Ridge and Dunkirk.
Freaks and The Informer were better than expected. Uncut Gems was very good. A throwback to 70s New York crime movies. Jojo Rabbit was excellent. I can't think of a better movie when it comes to mixing laugh-out-loud humour with genuinely dark moments. I watched the directors cut of Dr. Sleep and as a stand-alone movie it was very impressive. However, it is not a standalone movie, it is one of the most unnecessary sequels of all time and this works against it. Overall I enjoyed it but I found it very annoying how it rode on the coattails of an all-time classic.
Probably a 2019 movie however I only watched it recently..................Parasite is crazily brilliant, escalates out of nowhere! Really enjoyed The Gentleman also, Colin Farrell steals the show 1917 is worth a watch
It's an excellent movie, I really enjoyed it from start to finish, it gets so bloody tense at times! 1917 was fine, wouldn't hold a candle to the likes of Saving Private Ryan for me though.
1917 was very good. I loved The Lighthouse. Wife hated it. It's definitely a Marmite movie and not your typical Hollywood flick. The two lads were excellent in it. New Terminator movie was shit imo. Has to be the most overrated franchise. Knives Out was decent. Been watching more movies with Junior since schools closed and while most of them make me want to tear my eyes out of my skull, there's a few decent ones... Sonic the Hedgehog, Aladdin, Klaus, Dora and from a few years back, the Paddington movies, new Jumanji movies and Pete's Dragon.
Overrated SciFi franchises could probably have it's own thread. Personally I'd say the first two Terminator movies are far too good to put it at the top of that list. I'd start with Star Wars and work from there.
I think it will be fine. Sci-Fi fans are well known for being very rational when it comes to disagreements about the genre....particularly Star Wars fans.
Yes, Vodka Jr. likes it but I haven't seen it myself yet. Personally I'd say the first two Star Wars movies are far too good to put it at the top of that list. T2 is the only Terminator movie I like. I can understand the shout for SW however, as I used to consider myself a fan until the recent revival killed the franchise for me.
Did you not like the first Terminator? I think it's an all time classic and I'd be far from a big fan of Sci-Fi. I never got the Star Wars love in. My brother is a huge fan of it and they always seemed to be films that were unavoidable as kids. Then it just felt like an obligation to watch the prequels when they started coming out. Broke the cycle with the last two.
Try a few of these kids films: 1) Lilo and Stitch 2) James and the Giant Peach 3) Song of the Sea 4) Charlottes Web 5) Homeward Bound - The Incredible Journey 6) The Wizard Of Oz 7) Spies in Disguise 8) My Neighbor Totoro 9) Dolittle 10) Playmobil The Movie 11) A Shaun The Sheep Movie - Farmageddon 12) Abominable
