If it wasn't controlled by the season ticket system and more reflective of what they're worth per game. Take for instance that someone could get a ticket for 40 pounds and sell it for 150. The demand seems to way outstrip supply and the closed nature of the system for buying tickets drives up that black economy demand. I'm not suggesting by any means that the club should increase prices but it's just a pity that this touting business is encouraged inadvertently because of the way tickets are sold.
Touts exist in every market though even the ones that have open sales to everyone Umder roy it was an open shop to anyone to get tickets home and away At the minute with the team doing well Sadly it's the way it goes that everyone wants a ticket
Loyalty has to be rewarded too. Id argue it isn't rewarded enough with the current drop from 13+ to nothing for most games. Somebody with 12games last season has the same shot as somebody with 0. That's not right IMO
Gone from getting tickets for 9 games (attending 7) last season to 2 matches (late availability sale) this season after getting nowhere in the members sale. Bit annoying when someone who possibly only paid for their membership last week with no transaction history ends up with the same chance as a paid up member for the last 5 years. Surely they could set up some points system based on your attendance history from the last 5 years.
In the states season tickets are nearly seen as a commodity and you either make or lose money based on how the team performs, it's just a crazy situation and I'd hate to see it happen but it's just so hard to have only genuine fans getting season tickets. I hadn't actually realised how impossible it was to get tickets to the weaker opposition home games and as someone who never goes to games (last trip was Deportivo in 2005) I didn't even know where to start! It seems the only options available are the clubs hospitality packages through local pubs at 210 pounds a ticket.
Hi, As long as the club keep selling memberships to those wanting to try for tickets, without also increasing the number of tickets available for sale in members sales ... the odds get worse. The club know this, but also know that selling memberships raises revenue, so I don't think there's any surprise as to where the club wants to be.
No doubt There are people running the club who bonuses are linked to number of memberships. They should be reported to authorities for false advertising. The club should make public the allocations for every sale for every game so folks know the value of membership and their chance of a ticket. Gerry is right that all it would take is one lean season and you could nearly pay at the gate again.
Funny that you've just mentioned that as I've literally just got an advertisement on facebook to buy the perfect gift for the Liverpool fan in your life and it's the membership.
To be honest, I wasn't as focused on the people who might be on some sort of performance related pay for flogging the memberships, as the actual principal of the entire thing where there's no way to protect the paying member. I agree with you 100% that the club should be open about what the ratio of tickets to memberships is before each sale, at the very least.
https://www.oneadvanced.com/solutions/talent/ Just seen that they are actually listed at the bottom of the page when you go to buy tickets.
I think they sell 10,000 tickets to members for each match in the bulk sales. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
Sorry - Can I just ask - It's probably very obvious but I'm a little confused. If I link with someone's card that has say 15 credits on their card and I have only 2, am I allowed to buy one ticket in the 13+ sale next year or 2? Thanks,
One ticket. You need to match the sales criteria for each card in order to buy a ticket with this card.
Quick question does any of the big games ever get to addition members sale as I see that it goes to 4+ and then local general sale the next day I haven't got 4+ last year but I have got a lot this year
O right like as just seen arsenal game it doesn't even says additional members sale as next after 4+ just sale local general sale
