Sometimes I have to ask myself that question. I don't think Gerrards departure will have any affect on signing players. Getting back to the Champions League will have a bigger effect than his departure.
I dunno about in general, but I think in this case this kid (who as a liverpool fan you'd imagine he idolized Stevie) I think him leaving will have a big affect!!
Perhaps but maybe not a big a draw as Real offering his dad a coaching job. http://www.bavarianfootballworks.co...aard-transfer-news-rumors-real-madrid-dad-job
I think we have to accept we're way down the list when wonderkids are being courted by major European sides. The glitz and glamour of big cities, money and the high likelihood of playing for a team in champs league every year is a big draw compared to Liverpool
Thank god then that we are based in a city where we can unearth, develop and bring world class talent to it's maximum potential. Let's not forget some of our homegrown wonder kids, remember Robbie Fowler, Stevie G, and John Flanagan lived a stones throw from Anfield.
There is also the very real likelihood that Liverpool have players on their books as good as or if not better that this kid. This tour of clubs is like a circus act at this stage. Players have been hyped up many times over the years. Yes, he may go on to be a big star but for every Lionel Messi there are a 100 kids who probably were as good as him at a very young age who are all forgotten about now.
Is that even allowed at 16 years old? Seems crazy if true. This lad now probably earns more than most of the high earners at our club if it's true.
Sure I'd say come the summer, most of our senior team won't be getting that ! No doubt the deal clincher
Unless he goes out on a 5year loan deal this lad has just ruined his career. For 80k a week though id love to ruin my career!
If madrid are giving this lad 80grand a week its an utter disgrace and something needs to be done about it, if this is the way the beautiful game is going then i really fear for it, all this money is gonna kill this game off altogether in time, its becoming a not very funny joke at this stage
Martin Ødegaard's reported contract: £3,480,000-a-year £320,000-a-month £80,000-a-week £11,428-a-day £476-an-hour What is life. He earns in a day, what I earn in a year.
But life long for him is what, realistically since he was about 10. So 6 years. The money they are giving this kid is shocking.
Im just thinking back and regretting picking Gaelic over Football when I was 10 years old. Crazy amount of money and it's what is wrong with football at the minute and its only going to get worse.
