Milner right back. Is Trent injured I wonder? Or just a tactical decision?
Matic is a big miss
Liverpool: Alisson, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Fabinho, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Mignolet, Keita, Sturridge, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.
#MUFC starting XI v #LFC: De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Herrera, Pogba, Mata, Lukaku, Rashford Subs: Romero, Bailly, Dalot, Fred, A.Pereira, Alexis, Lingard
Going more more experience at RB
Said I'd like to see Milner start but couldn't see where Klopp was going to fit him in, let's hope it's an inspired decision.
Our bench looks very strong. Should have enough for these lot, especially seeing their starting 11.
Rashford will be told to run at Milner
Mane v Young and Rashfird v Milner could be key battles. Salah will have to do his share of tracking back with Shaw bombing on as well
Have to be beating that United team. There is a red in there if the ref is strong enough.
Less worried playing a midfielder at full back today than i was against Palace Leicester and West Ham. Hopefully Milner gets good support if Rashford pulls out that direction
Trent got roasted at Old Trafford last year, I was looking forward to seeing how much he has come on but I get the logic of starting Milner as well.
Think with the players out OGS will be happy now to play the way they did against Chelsea even it being at home so TAA could be a miss as a Milner isn't as good as an outlet against an 8 man defence. Expect him on around 65 min mark if needed. Still we should have enough for these without him.
Hopefully salah is on it today. He’s been slightly off his best the last couple of games. No matic so this defence can be got at . A point is still a good result be no reason why we can’t get 3
My nerves are shot!
Both teams a little surprising. That’s not a great United side.
TAA must not be fully fit. Klopp loves a bit of redemption so think he would have staggered TAA in this game if he could, given last season.
After the Bayern game during the week feel like a two week wait for this game to come around!
United are the only team salah hasn’t scored against . He looking for number 50 today.
More confident now when I look at that United lineup with the likes of Smalling, Young and McTominay in it.
I’m slightly surprised that Trent was dropped for Milner but I wouldn’t be concerned about Milner providing he doesn’t bomb forward too often as he is sometimes prone to doing when playing right full.
Great opportunity to get 3 points today.
