Could do with Matip, Lovren, Fabinho, Keita, Ox and Shaqiri this Sunday. Wonder will one of the top 3 start up top with Origi and Brewster? Lallana, Davies and Mina in midfield? Milner left back for experience? Don't envy Klopp one bit on this one.
Normally 70+ points is the magic number for champs league qualification so what's your belief based on Glen?
Really good performance last night, controlled the game well and didn't need to kill themselves for it. Henderson was class again.
I believe Glen is referencing the fact we've got a 27 point cushion on 5th place Man United, with a better goal difference of 28 (thus as the old saying goes it being worth an extra point), and we have a game in hand. If Man Utd won all 17 remaining games to achieve another 51 points we'd need 24 points from our remaining 18 games to guarantee a top 4 finish. So with that in mind, I think Glen meant he's confident/believes Liverpool will finish in the top 4 from here on out, and is no longer worrying about our Champions League status for next season.
Yep. I never said we qualified. I said I believe we had qualified. United won’t make up the points difference from here. All bout pushing in now and securing the title .
I think you would struggle to find any Liverpool supporter who has being worrying about Liverpool finishing outside the top four this season.
See this will drive me mad, it will be pushed as something we're trying to achieve when it actually doesn't matter a toss. Putting that up is just a way for others to make our season in some way look a failure.
Agreed. No doubt the Sky lads will harp on about it, as will the mancs etc. Getting back to the game against the Blades, I was surprised at how much we controlled the game, not to take away from our lads so much as surprised that Sheffield weren't better - they've been a very good team for much of this season, so I expected a tougher game. Gomez and Hendo both did particularly well, Gini also. Hard to say it, but if I was asked who I thought would get the lowest rating from our players, it would probably be Bobby, his touch was too soft on a number of occasions in the first half, and it was like he was off his game a bit. Hopefully, he'll be back on top today though. Dropped into the Albert before the game, seems to be getting more and more commercial, which no doubt is an attraction for the visitors who haven't been there regularly, but I can't see it helping them sell more pints. Limited numbers signing, lots of mobile phones out taking photos of all the scarfs etc.
I've no problem with talk of an invincible season,if anything I welcome it. Anything that motivates against complacency is ok by me and it's something else to strive for. If we dont achieve it and other fans use it to gloat,so what?
