Expecting a bit of rotation for this and a very strong bench .Bologna opening match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk ended 0-0.
Seen the highlights and wasn’t very impressed to be honest.

Weird vibes of this, it's the champions league but doesn't feel like the champions league. We wouldn't rest players at home to Karabaq in the old format but feels like we should here. The key difference is the extra 2 games that can be avoided later in the season, I suppose we will know after 4 or 5 games how likely a top 8 finish is and could rest at that stage.

Be worried if we don't start giving some lads rest, particularly the 3 in the middle so hopefully an opportunity for Jones/Endo.

Leaving out one word made that sentence seem a bit sinister :)

    Hazard a guess as...

    Alisson
    Trent
    Quansah
    Virg
    Tsimikas
    Gravenberch
    MacAllister
    Jones
    Salah
    Gakpo
    Diaz

If Nunez is better, then him up top with Diaz dropping out for Gakpo

Yeah there was a load of games on tonight but didn’t even look at the scores until 10pm. The lack of home and away takes something away.

play all these games to knock 8 teams out before the spring is pointless. No Jeopardy really and for some teams it suits be in the middle 16 as extra pay day at the gate and tv exposure. It really is the beginning of the super league.

As for the Liverpool game, I’d play GomeZ, Kostas, Jones, Endo, Gakpo and Nunez if fit.

Not as much rotation as I thought it would be .

Subs: Jaros, Kelleher, Gomez, Endo, Jones, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Quansah, Morton, Bradley, Nyoni.

Yes, very surprised he didn't make a few changes. Jota has a knock apparently, other than that it's full strength.

A couple of Bradley, Gomez, Quansah, Jones, Gakpo could have done with a game.

The last few games will be more exciting because teams will know what they're playing for.

Nunez unfortunate with the offside. The pass to him was delayed too long.

Nunez frustrating again with the offside. The pass to him was perfectly weighted :)

Mad half, should be comfortable but again simple errors, lack of concentration whatever giving Bologna a sniff and they grew in confidence as the half went on.
MacAllister goal was a thing of beauty and we could have a few more beauts if Darwin could stay on side or we could just get the final pass right.

Ronnie Whelan blamed Darwin. Between Ronnie and Trent you have 2 of the games best passers, I'm going with them on this one.

People can make up their own mind on who's to blame, but not a fucking chance I'll ever be swayed by Ronnie Whelan.

The way Darragh Maloney and Ronnie Whelan were going on you’d swear Liverpool were 3 or 4-0 down.

I honestly believe, there is currently no player in world football better at his job than Van Dijk is at his. I'll take Haaland as a fair counter offer, but thats it.
