A brief look on the Everton fan site will show you how a lot of their fans see this match. They will be more than happy to lose this one and then they wonder why they are labelled the bitters. I seem to recall some of their fans cheering City in the match between them in 2014 also in what was a bizarre atmosphere.

I don't necessarily buy the theory that they will effectively throw the match but I think that they are simply not good enough to take points off City anyway.

It's hard to prove when a team is shit but if Everton roll over again they should be investigated. What they done in 2014 was as close to cheating as you will live on the telly.

Not aimed at anyone in particular Ed, especially on this site. Plenty though on social media lining themselves up for the I told you so lines.

That wasn't aimed at you Gary, I was just referencing the odds in your post.

Tbh I don't give a fcuk what odds the bookies have city or us , we were 1/7 in 13/14 season at one stage and look what happened there
My point is your not so mild over reaction saying we are in freefall after two draws, melodramatic at best me thinks!

A bit of a freefall is what i said if we're being pedantic about it. It's 2 draws, 2 losses and a 2 wins in our last 6 by the way.

Yes was shocking in 2014. When they made it 3-2 with over twenty minutes to go you could see the shock on the players faces and then at one stage Coleman had space in City's half to run into it and he turned back and passed it sideways. They didn't try a leg. Hard to see them getting anything tonight even if they do try.

I don’t think Silva will be lining up his team will any thoughts other than winning the game as he is under massive pressure.

If you look through their squad, I doubt there are too many Everton players who care whether LFC win they league or not. Pickford, Coleman, Baines maybe. The latter two may not even start.

Still think City will beat them, but it won’t be because Everton lie down, it’s because they are not very good and Silva has them defending set pieces like a Sunday league team

An old school match goer has gone viral on Twitter with a call to arms for all supporters on match days.

    7 home games left.

Saw that. Some of the comments made bring it home how many bad eggs we have in the fan base.

Absolutely. Let's be honest we haven't helped the team at all past 2 games. The worried looks, the groans etc etc. The team feed off us. And they need us. This fella is spot on and I hope everyone follows suit.

Way I see it we were almost Leeds a few years back. Let's enjoy this instead of hanging off it.

Anyone know if this is the biggest gap in points between Everton and Liverpool in the top flight?

I don't know about that but I know that Everton have broken a club record this season. As they are out of the cups and cannot win the league, they will go at least 25 years without a trophy, the longest in the club's history.
